Sussex / Gladmans of East Sussex
« on: Thursday 16 January 14 11:02 GMT (UK)  »
I was wondering if anyone had any information on the ancestors of William Gladman born 16 Sep 1821 Ripe, East Sussex and bapt. 13 Dec 1821 @ Heathfield Independant Chapel, son of William Gladman who was born circa 1800.

I am trying to link William Gladman (born circa 1800) to his possible parents William Gladman & Ann Strater who married  11 Oct 1799 Laughton, East Sussex. The Removal Order states they had an un-named child aged 6 weeks with them when they moved from Laughton to Ripe on 25 Jan 1800 and I want to determine whether or not this is my William Gladman born circa 1800?

Can anyone help?

Handwriting Deciphering & Recognition / 1833 Baptism

Hi

It's rather faded but can anyone read the occupation for Caroline Shephard?  If a bit of history helps the last 2 baptisms were, like this one, in her name only but before that with both parties, he was a wool trimmer/sorter.
Any ideas would be great.

Thanks

Hi

Would anyone be able to shed some light on this 1851 census.  I can't make out the letters in the birthplace column for Thomas Wareham aged 62 from Dorsetshire.  ?

Any help much appreciated.

Hi

I have been looking for my ancestors John & Susanna Asker & have come across two names which could be them. The ages fit but not sure if it says 'Asher' or 'Asker' ?
Ancestry shows it as 'Asher' but previous dealings with Ancestry's decyphering leaves a lot to be desired.
On the attachment I have circled the relevant couple & also circled another name which looks like 'Aneka'.  (Ancestry had this down as 'Anoha' which doesn't make sense & I'm wondering if the 'h's are actually 'k's ?

Any opinions please
Gary

Handwriting Deciphering & Recognition / German marriage
« on: Wednesday 05 January 11 19:32 GMT (UK)  »
Hi
I have a marriage from 1637 in Künzelsau, Germany and I am not sure whether it is the correct one.  I was looking for a marriage between a Heinrich Schmötzer/Schmizer and Elisabeth ? and could only find the attached entry.  I have included another photo which is the burial (?) for Herr. Schmötzer.    Even though the 'H's are different I still think his name is Heinrich over Fridrich.

Any opinions please would be gratefully received :)

Leicestershire / James Choice/Choyce

Hi
Was wondering whether anyone has ever come across a James Choice/Choyce born around the Nuneaton area circa 1796.  Later in life he married Mary Goodson in 1820 in Thorpe Acre & Dishley, Loughborough. Nuneaton was shown as his birthplace on census.  I have also posted this on Warwickshire.
Thanks
Gary
