Banffshire / DUFFTOWN

My g/mother was born at 29 Queen St., in 1892.  Many years ago I recall being told that Queen St. was now called Conval St.  I recently visited the area and see there is a Queen St. but in another part of the town.  Can someone please confirm if my original information is correct and if so, where would 29 have been at that time.   COMPLETED, THANKS.

The Common Room / Late reply to a request

While searching an altogether different subject in a newspaper on line I was absolutely amazed to come upon a request for family information which I would like to follow up, especially as I think it will lead me to the answer I've been searching for during the 7 yrs I've been working on my family history. Rootschat was mentioned so I've immediately joined to discover that the request was made last year and there has been no recent activity regarding it. As I'm new to this I don't know if I properly understand the workings...is it correct that there is no way I can get in contact with the requester apart from waiting for her to check her  messages.  I've sent a PM and put a general message in the Canada section and wonder if there is anything else I could be doing. I'm burning the midnight oil trying to discover other avenues I might take.   Thanks for any advice that might come my way.

Trying to ascertain why London was chosen as destination by ancestors and this name crops up so hope to find some connection. Does anyone have info on a Georgena [?] Watt in London Ontario in the 1920s. She possibly had an Aberdeen connection.  Thanks. COMPLETED.
