Lancashire Lookup Requests / Duke Street Liverpool 1901
« on: Friday 26 February 21 16:11 GMT (UK)  »
I am researching the life of a 3xgreat uncle, John Hull. He was admitted to Liverpool Workhouse in 1903 and his address is given as 21 Duke Street. He is still in the workhouse in 1911 according to the census. He died in 1915 in the workhouse infirmary but under rank/profession his death certificate states he was of 21 Duke Street, formerly a mercantile Seaman.
I am trying to find 21 Duke Street in the 1901 census but not had any success. I can't find John anywhere on the 1901 census, perhaps he was at sea, but just wondering who was at Duke Street.

Can anyone help please?
Thank you

Hello, apologies if this has been asked/discussed before but does anyone know if Family Tree Maker 2012 (Platinum) and Windows 10 are compatible? I currently use Windows 7 and thinking of updating to Windows 10 but having had no problems at all with my current set up I am being cautious.

Many thanks

Handwriting Deciphering & Recognition / Groom's occupation

Has anyone any idea what this word says? It is on a marriage licence/bond in 1731 and we think it is the occupation of the groom.

Cheshire / Marriage in Bucklow
« on: Sunday 28 September 14 06:25 BST (UK)  »
Hi, I am trying to find details of a marriage between Annie Sim and Eric Power, 1926. On freebmd it comes up as in Bucklow. Am I right in thinking this is Cheshire? I can't find the marriage on Cheshire BMD or Cheshire parish register project. Are there any other sites where details of the marriage could be or can anyone point me in the right direction as to which church this marriage may have taken place before I resort to sending for the actual marriage certificate.

many thanks

The Common Room / Ship expert needed
« on: Friday 29 August 14 10:49 BST (UK)  »
This post relates to my previous post http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?topic=697529.0
and I know I am clutching at straws here. But, can anyone tell me anything about a ship called 'Ibadan' that was sailing the seas in 1899 or point me in the right direction to where I could find some info about it.
I found a deaths at sea list which unfortunately only gives surnames; there is a 'Bolas' who died in Dec 1899 on the Ibadan. I think Ibadan  is in Africa? so perhaps the ship was named after the port it would frequently sail to? As there may be an African connection to my missing chap Elijah Bolas just thought I would see what I could find about this ship.

Many thanks
