Hi - can anyone help me with my research into the attached photos, found in a house in Brislington, Bristol, England?

I believe the photo is of George Charles Bowles, born in Bristol on 13th November 1893, son of Edward Henry & Susan Bowles, and the wooden plaque (24cm diameter) is of The Royal Irish Regiment.

Please can anyone explain why George would be in The Royal Irish Regiment if he was from Bristol, as I can’t find any other links with Ireland in his family tree.

Hi.  I have a postcard photograph of a class of children titled "Hanham National Infants, 2c"  Can anyone give me some history on National Schools, and specifically the school in Hanham, Bristol, please?

Ambrose Lewton (senior), from Hanham, Bristol,  & Sarah Dalton, from Kent, were married in London, England on 09.08.1829.  They had 7 children, born in London, who all moved back to live in Keynsham Poorhouse, with their mother, when their father died in London in 1840.  They were brought up in Oldland, Bitton, but I can't find one of the children - Ambrose Lewton (junior), a coalminer, born about 1836, after the 1851 census.  I think he may have emigrated to Canada.  Can anyone help me to trace him there?

With the help of RootsChat, I have traced my tree back to Ambrose Lewton (b abt 1800) who married Sarah Dalton (b abt 1801) at St Mark, Kennington, London on 09.08.1829
By 1840, Ambrose had died (buried 20.01.1840 at St Margarets, Westminster, London). 
Has anyone any information about him, & how he died?
The odd thing is that by the 1841 census, Sarah was in The Keynsham Union Poorhouse, with her 7 children. 
I wonder why she moved there? 
Can anyone give me any details?
She remarried in 1845, to William Bessell, remaining in the Keynsham / Bristol area - which is where my family tree has many branches.
