I am trying to find out any information on an address in Whitburn. On my Uncle's birth certificate it shows  William Roberts born 11 February 1924 at 3 Dixon Terrace Whitburn. I am trying to find out if this was a small farm or maybe even a miners cottage ( as his father was a coal miner). Looking on my computer this area now looks like it may be an industrial area. Hoping someone can assist me.

Antrim / Montgomery

G'Day
I am looking for any information on Samuel G Montgomery who lived at 73 Princetown Road Bangor in the 1911 cencus. Samuel was born c. 1854 in Bangor. He also had at least 1 brother named William J Montgomery who was born c. 1852. The 1891 England census  states the William was born in Belfast. Samuel G. was a tailor in Bangor right up to 1915 that I know of.
My G.G. grandfather Hugh Montgomery was a tailor and had a tailor shop in Main Street Bangor until his death in 1849 and I think the tailor shop was then run by Hugh's brother Henry. I am trying to determine if Samuel G. is related to Henry or is it just coincedince that another Montgomery had a tailor shop in Main Street Bangor. In the 1901 census Samuel G. Montgomery was living at 36 Main Street Bangor.
Any help would be very much appreciated. :)

G'Day  All
I was hoping someone could help me with this.  My G.G. Grandfather James Jamieson is said to be born in Carew Ireland in abt. 1836. After he was married he moved his family to Scotland. In the 1881 Scotland census it states that James Jamieson was born in Carew Ireland. When I used Google Earth to find Carew nothing come up at all but on Ancestry.com maps it pinpointed it to be in Galway, not far from Laurencetown. Can anyone tell me if I am the right track or am I lost.  Regards David

West Lothian (Linlithgowshire) / William Roberts
« on: Tuesday 27 July 10 04:04 BST (UK)  »
G'Day All
My great grandfather William Roberts married Isabella Jamieson at Springfield Farm in 1893. They had 5 children all born around the Armadale/ Slamannan area.  I am lead to believe that at some stage William and Isabella went their seperate ways. When this happened, I don't know but on Isabella's death certificate 1925 it states married to William Roberts  Coalminer. So I don't know if they were still together then.
I am looking for a record of death for William Roberts.       Born 10-2-1868 Bathgate,        Father  John Roberts,
Mother    Helen Marshall.   I am not even sure if he was still in the same county.
I am hoping someone can assist me.    Regards  David

Lanarkshire / 21 Hope Street Glasgow

G'Day All
My grandfather David Roberts and grandmother Helen Sneddon were married at 21 Hope Street Glasgow in 1922. I have seen records of people being married at this same address even before 1900 and as late as 1936. I have downloaded photos of the building which is a 4 or 5 storey sandstone building.
Can anyone tell me what was at this address.  Was it a Registry Office, Solicitor's Office, and was it the actual place that the wedding ceremony took place?
                                                                 Hoping for assistance.  David

Armagh / James Jamieson
« on: Saturday 17 July 10 07:22 BST (UK)  »
Hi   I have just joined RootsChat.Com and I am hoping someone can help me. I am looking for information on James Jamieson who married Jane Davies or Davis. On their daughter's birth certificate (in Scotland) it shows that they were married on the 26th May 1861 in ? (unreadable) Ireland.  Given that Jane was born in Armagh (about 1840) and their first 2 children were born in Armagh, I am assuming that they were married in Armagh but do not have proof of this.  Can anyone help me out with this?  Regards  David
