« on: Friday 13 July 12 00:50 BST (UK)  »
Hi, this is an odd kinda topic i suppose was was just curious to find out the answer.

There is a story in my family that my g.grandfather gave my nan her middle name, Tanith, after he saw the name on the side of a ship. Since he is from the Pontypridd area i don't understand where he would see a ship too, does anyone know how he would see something like this? And does anyone know where the name Tanith comes from?

Sorry for the odd topic lol

Glamorganshire / Evans
« on: Friday 01 June 12 18:14 BST (UK)  »
Hi, i was wondering if anyone could help?

I have traced one side of my great grandfathers family back to 1881, the problem i have found is finding out about his father. His name was James Evans, born in London around 1863 (1901 states Middlesex, London. 1911 states Epson London). I have found him on census in 1891 living in Gilfach Goch with his wife Margaret A Evans. Then i have him in 1901 with his wife still plus their children, Margaret Leah Evans and Henry William Evans, along with her mother Margaret Evans and her son William Henry Evans - all very confusing i know! Why must they all share names lol.

I have looked on the 1881 census for James in Wales but cannot find him, im guessing he was still in England then, is there any way to find him?

Plus why would he leave england for Wales back then?

Thank you, Lyndsey

Glamorganshire / Recent break-through; help?
« on: Monday 23 May 11 18:31 BST (UK)  »
I have recently had a break through with one side of my family and found the name of my g.grandmother Olwen (Olwin) Howells nee Edwards' father. He is called William Edwards, an unfortunately common name.
I know that William married a lady named Elizabeth in 1904/5, but i don't know her surname.  I know the names of 4 of the children they had;

Elizabeth b. 1906
William Thomas b.1907
Matilda b.1908
Olwin b. 1909

I know that there are possibly another 6-8 children and was wondering if anyone could help me find out their names?
Thanks, Lyndsey

« on: Monday 11 April 11 00:36 BST (UK)  »
Im trying to trace my g.nan Olwen Edwards and i was wondering if anyone could help me with this.

I believe she was born roughly 1908 in Glamorgan, Wales. I Know that she was 1 of 13 children and was wondering if there was anyway to find out the names of these children along with her parents names?

I know she married in 1929 to a howells and then had 6 children. She died in 1992 in Glamorgan and is buried in Trealaw.

Any help would be apreciated, thanks :)
