Lancashire / Harold Vincent or Vincent Jackson or Wilson or Rutherford
« on: Thursday 09 January 20 05:47 GMT (UK)  »
I am chasing Harold Vincent Jackson b 28 Jan 1889 Manchester who was in the 1891 English Census (after his mum's marriage to James Wilson) Harold V Wilson. He was written as Vincent Wilson a guest at his mum's marriage to Alfred Rutherford in 1899 (Liverpool Echo 20 Apr 1899). After this.....nothing. I've tried nearly everything and no luck. His uncle (Edward Lockett  b1871 Isle of Man) was a steward  on liners travelling between New York and England so I though maybe he became a 12 yo cabin boy or similar and being under 21 didn't make it to any official list. Yes, I'm clutching at straws but BMDs, Passenger lists, Military lists etc throw up the name variations but none that I could claim as being he. His brother Eric James W Jackson died 13 Jan 1928 and his DC listed him as "Rutherford otherwise Jackson"
So:
Jackson, Harold Vincent or Harold or Vincent
Wilson, Harold Vincent or Harold or Vincent
Rutherford, Harold Vincent or Harold or Vincent

Any ideas? Anyone? Anywhere?

Thanks for reading
Paul

Lancashire Lookup Requests / Mary Ellen Jackson aka Rogers
« on: Wednesday 17 April 19 07:41 BST (UK)  »
I've never had any luck finding my great aunt Mary Ellen Jackson. She was born in Hulme Manchester on 15th June 1863 she was registered as  Mary Ellen Jackson (first name) Rogers (surname). Her father was Edward Jackson, her siblings called themselves Jackson in later life! The last info I have is the 1871 census, after that zilch! I have spent hundreds on birth, death and marriage certificates to no avail.
Can anyone suggest where I should look now?
Thank you
Paul

Lancashire / Jackson (Rogers) Mary Ellen
« on: Wednesday 02 November 16 01:59 GMT (UK)  »
Hi folks
for a long time I've been searching Manchester/Lancashire records for Mary Ellen  born 15Jun1863 whose name on the birth cerificate under "name if any" is Mary Ellen Jackson. Mary Ann Rogers is the mother's name but father is not mentioned.

Mary Ellen had siblings Edward Jackson Rogers b 1868 and Elizabeth Ann Jackson Rogers b 1866,  later in life they called themselves by the surname "Jackson" (I know that).

Their father was Edward Jackson b 1825 d 1967 in Manchester. Edward did not marry Mary Ann.

In the 1871 Census they are there as Jacksons (my last known mention of Mary Ellen)
By 1881 census Mary Ann had married James Kenyon and duly listed.

Here is my problem,I cannot find anything from 1871 onwards about Mary Ellen Jackson Rogers(Jackson)

Can anyone help? Any ideas? Generous reward ( my undying gratitude).

I think this picture is my grandmother Annie Elizabeth Hanger b 1890 and her mum Annie Elizabeth Hanger nee O'Brien. Taken in Melbourne Australia late 1890.
My mother said it was her and her mum but that would date it 1918.
I would like the date confirmed if possible. Can anyone help?
Paul.

Lancashire / Jackson Mary Ellen
« on: Thursday 25 June 15 08:04 BST (UK)  »
Hello everyone

After a couple of years away from FH and Rootschat my enthusiasm has returned and I want to continue searching for lost rellies.
So, with fingers crossed and optimism peaking I post the following:

Can anyone advise how I can find what happened to my great great aunt Mary Ellen Jackson born
15th Jun 1863 in Hulme to Mary Ann Rogers ( and Edward Jackson, although not on BC).
On the BC under "name if any" she is named "Mary Ellen Jackson" and may have been known as Mary Ellen Jackson ROGERS. Her siblings, Edward and Elizabeth were also surnamed "Rogers" but later went as "Jackson".

So as they say....the extremely difficult can be done now but the impossible takes a little longer !!!

Any Ideas

Cheers

Paul Jackson
