Anyone have any information on my (potentially!) GGGGGrandparents, William & Eleanore Higgins (b. c1790 & c. 1793 respectively), who appear on the 1861 census in Comley? Their daughter, Martha (my GGGGrandmother) was born c.1820, with possible brothers Edward and William.

Staffordshire Lookup Requests / 1841 Census Lookup, please - BATE, Wednesfield
« on: Monday 23 May 05 13:26 BST (UK)  »
Could anyone lookup my GGGGrandparents on the 1841 census please?

Their names are Henry (poss. listed as William) and Martha BATE, who were born in 1817 in Cornwall and 1820 in Shrewsbury, respectively. They should have their eldest son, James, b1839, with them and were living in the Wednesfield/Heath Town area of Wolverhampton, Staffordshire.

Thanks for your help.

World War One / WW1 Medal Cards - Guidance please!!!!
« on: Wednesday 11 May 05 16:14 BST (UK)  »
I've just finally traced my GGrandfather's WW1 medals card and could do with a little guidance, please!!!

Theatre of War first served in is : (1). Any ideas what this means?
What does the "Regiment No." signify? Is this his personal number or one for the Regiment? He was a South Staffs soldier and other South Staffs soldiers have different numbers, so I'm a little confused!!!

Many thanks for any help given.
