Hertfordshire Lookup Requests / St Mary the Virgin, Ware: Parish Registers - WHEATLY
« on: Tuesday 08 August 17 21:44 BST (UK)  »
Marriage on 26 Jul 1778 between JOHN WHEATLY & MARY ANSELL. I have this info. from a transcript that does not provide full details, e.g. not the witnesses. Please could someone be kind enough to lookup the full details for me.

It would also be useful to know if it appears that any of the witnesses are "professional witnesses".

Thanks   :)

Suffolk / St Edmundsbury Cathedral - Marriages ?
« on: Friday 17 March 17 13:01 GMT (UK)  »
After a lot of fruitless searching, I am beginning to wonder if my ancestor's marriage in 1675 or 1676 was in St Edmondsbury Cathedral. Is this plausible? If so, are any records available?

I suspect SIMON HURREN (? married to a Mary) had children in Sibton, from about 1760; including a son Simon (abt 1763). Please could someone check the BAPTISMS.

There is a possibility that some of the children were baptised at St Michael, PEASENHALL. Variants of 'Hurren' are quite common, and include: HURRION, HARRION, HYREN, HURRING, HARRISON, etc.

There is also a possibility of non-conformist baptisms.

Any help would be much appreciated,
Graham

PS  I have given up trying to get Sibton & Peasenhall data online.

Clare / Kilrush parish registers 1840s
« on: Tuesday 19 April 11 13:14 BST (UK)  »
Between 1843 and 1849 George Whinham and his family were in Kilrush. He was English and a mason. In 1843 a daughter, Jane, was born in Kilrush and in 1845 another daughter Ann. The family were back in Yorkshire for the 1851 census. Father George was dead but there is no trace of his registration in England. I can only assume he died in Kilrush, perhaps during the evictions that were carried out there at that time. I would be grateful for any look up for Kilrush that might provide information regarding this family.   Janet

Suffolk / PAKEFIELD Early Parish Registers - pre WW2 Transcripts ?
« on: Tuesday 21 December 10 11:00 GMT (UK)  »
The early Parish Register(s) are partly illegible due to WW2 damage. Many transcripts were done in the 1800s. Does anybody know if there are there any pre WW2 transcripts for Pakefield ?

I am wondering if the following two BAPTISMS, in the Suffolk Baptism Index, are showing the mother as Mary, when in fact it is Martha.

11 Jun 1743  Edmund son of Edmund & Mary

1 Oct 1744  Sarah dau of Edmund & Mary

If the mother is Martha, is there a baptism of an older sister, Mary (abt 1741) ?

Any help would be appreciated,
Graham

Could someone please provide details of the following MARRIAGE. Boyd's Marriage Index (in origins.net) is only partially helpful.

1705  Edmund Ellis & Sarah ??

Thanks

Please could you check out the 22 Oct 1710 marriage of JEREMY BLOWFIELD (BLOMFIELD ?) to MARY AL* (possibly ALLIFAX). Including groom and bride status, if given.

ALSO, what I suspect is Jeremy's second marriage: 29 Aug 1732 to REBECCAH FORREST (FORRIST ?). Again, groom and bride status would be very helpful.

Thanks

London and Middlesex / Highgate Hospital - address variations
« on: Friday 05 November 10 16:40 GMT (UK)  »
Two relatives in my tree died in Highgate Hospital. One, in 1927, with the address given as 199 Dartmouth Park Hill. The other, in 1933, with the address given as 77a Highgate Hill.

Can anyone shed any light on this?

Graham
