Free Photo Restoration & Date Old Photographs / Date this photo please - McBroom
« on: Friday 03 December 10 20:45 GMT (UK)  »
This just received this photo from a distant releative.

The photo of the two people are husband and wife.  Samuel and Anna C.

The other photo is of my great grand uncle Samuel.  Does the other woman in the back look like the his wife?
They had a daughter Cleo.
I'm trying to date these photos.  I wish I knew someone who what familiar with antique shotguns.
I have an idea when the photos were taken but would like to hear from any of you that may want to chime in.

Does the woman in the middle seem like she could be the daughter Cleo?
Does the woman and man in the 3 person photo lookl like the same woman and man in the 2 person photo?

Thoughts?
Thanks in advance!
Brian

« on: Friday 03 September 10 14:04 BST (UK)  »
Found this wonderful photo in grandmother's shoebox of old photos.
No one alive in our immediate family that recognizes these folks.
No writing on back.

Supposing these are all family members, how do you think they relate to each other?

Grandmother?
Parents?
Children?
Grandchildren?

Also does anyone have an idea of date of this photo?  Time peroiod?

Tryng to find information on my GG Grandfather Walter McBroom.  Born around 1831.  I have his US naturalization document and he states he was a native of County Antrim Ireland.  He arrived in New York on May 21, 1850.  He settled in Indiana USA.
After arriving in US Indiana ...
1st wife
Mary Jane Lawghery 1832 – ?
1st child
Hugh L McBroom 1857 – 1932

2nd wife
Ann Jane Todd 1842 – 1925
Children
Martha McBroom 1863 – 1932
Samuel Todd McBroom 1865 – 1946
Ann Jane McBroom 1868 –  ?
Mary L McBroom 1870 – 1879
William J McBroom 1871 – 1872
Robert Miller McBroom 1872 – 1927

He embarked on his voyage to US in Belfast Ireland.
I have yet to find passenger list so not sure if travelled alone.
Presbyterian is a possibility

Seeing that his first son was named Hugh and his first daughter was named Martha - I have followed that path and found a Hugh McBroom b: 1706 that married a Martha MacKay and they had 8 children in County Antrim, but none of the 8 kids were named Walter.

I've posted on the Irish Antrim Rootschat as well, but research and correspondance with others shows possible links to Ayshire Scotland.

Thanks

« on: Friday 20 August 10 18:51 BST (UK)  »
I have the death certificate for my 3G grandfather John Dixon.

He died 4/20/1893 in Indianapolis Indiana USA at age 77.

It lists his Father's Name:  John Dixon - Indiana
It lists his Mother's Name: Agnes Dennis - Pennsylvania

I have looked and looked but can not find anything on John and Agnes.

This is where my tree stops on the Dixon side ( my mom's side )
Any ideas or help is appreciated!

Is it possible to clean that up so the photo looks uniform in appearance?
