Just a quick question. Usually if a Church has closed what would happen to their burial records?

Lancashire / plot details - Farnworth Cemetery

Hi
I have a plot number of a common grave at Farnworth Cemetery and I want to get details of the plot and who is buried in it. I have phoned Overdale and they say I have to write in with a £10 cheque.
There is a good chance this plot wont show me what Im looking for so Im a bit reluctant to pay £10.
Im new to all this and just wondered if there is any other way of getting grave details without having to pay this fee? There isnt likely to be a head stone where I can check names.

Hello,
Could someone please tell me if a death is registered in a particular quarter i.e. sept 1961 would the death definitely be in the previous 3 months or so or is it possible the death could be sooner than that but registration delayed? The date of registration I have been given is one year out from what I expected.

I am searching for a grave for a baby that I believe was buried in a coffin with an unrelated adult in or around Little Hulton/Walkden/Bolton. All my enquiries have drawn a blank. I know who the undertakers were but as it was 1960 they no longer have records. I also have a pretty good idea of which week in 1960 it would have been. Is it possible to search for all burials that took place that particular week so that I can then check each female burial to see if the baby was placed in that coffin and if so, how would I go about it? I know if this is possible it could be a very long process. I was thinking maybe checking obituaries? I know very little about searching family history so would appreciate any help.

I just posted this on the beginners board then realised it should probably be in here. A colleague of mine is trying to locate where someone was buried. It would be in the Oldham area and in April 2005. I don't want to post the name on the board but if anyone is able to look this up for me would you please contact me? Sorry Im not sure if this is the right place to post this. A colleague of mine is trying to find out where someone was buried. It would have been in Oldham around 2005. Is anyone able to look this up for me please?

I wonder if someone would mind doing a search for me on Lancashire OnLine Parish clerks website. I have tried numerous times but nothing is happening. I don't know if Im doing someone wrong or its my computer or their website. Im searching against a burial for surname Leigh in 1960 in All Walkden area. Could anyone do a quick search and let me know if anything comes up. Thank you very much
