Australia / William John SMITH Queensland
« on: Friday 01 February 13 05:15 GMT (UK)  »
Hi

I have used the usual resources but am coming up empty on this man. He died in 1946 in Queensland and his son and some relatives are mentioned. The actual article has not been scanned yet by Trove but it is him. What I am trying to find is his wife. I know that he had a son named William as well. This is the little I have found Families. Mr. and Mrs. William Smith, Goodna. Mr. and Mrs. R. G. Bahr. Brisbane, and Misses Ellie and Beth Smith. Goodna. are invited to attend the Funeral of their deceased Father. Fathering and Grandfather. William John Smith, late of Church Street. Goodna.

I am trying to find William John Smiths ancestors and where he came from.

Thank you kind Chatters  for any help you can give.

Australia / And the winner is Miss Mines
« on: Tuesday 07 August 12 08:21 BST (UK)  »
Hi

I have found a snippet of information stating that the winner of the raffle of the Prince of Wales gold nugget  was a Miss Mines of O'Keeffe Street South Brisbane.

This would have occurred in either 1921 or 1922 and I am hoping that someone could assist with information regarding Miss Mines. What was her first name and did she marry.

Many thanks

Hello and Merry Christmas to all

Well I am trying to find descendants of John and Mary Carroll . Two of the sons Edward John and Daniel were instrumental in the company Birch Carroll and Coyle.

I think that Texas may be one of the sons of Edward John Carroll , but please correct if I am wrong.

Hope to find some more information on the family of John and Mary Carroll.

Thank you so much :) :) :)

Australia / Thomas RICE and Bridget Agnes TOUHY
« on: Thursday 17 November 11 08:21 GMT (UK)  »
Hi

Have traced the children of this couple but cannot find the marriage as yet. One of their children Mary Rice was born in Ballarat East Victoria in 1869. After that Thomas is found in Orange in 1879 and later on in 1881 in Bourke NSW.
His family later moved to Mount Morgan Queensland around 1890 .

I would appreciate any help in tracing Bridget's family, the spelling on QLD BDM is either Tuohy or Toohey.

Many thanks

World War One / Captain Pritchard

Ministry of Defence Search for Next of Kin.

The UK Ministry of Defence (MOD) is searching for the family of Captain John H Pritchard, of the Honourable Artillery Company, who was killed in France on 15 May 1917.

Captain Pritchard’s remains were found near Bullecourt in France and recently identified. He is presently commemorated on Bay 1 of the Arras Memorial.

The last known addresses (circa 1917) for the family were in Harvard Court Hampstead, Bartholomew Lane and Cambridge Terrace, Hyde Park London.

Captain Pritchard was born on 25 March 1886 and joined up when he was 22 on 1 March 1909. His height is recorded as 5ft 9ins. It is believed he may have worked in the Alliance Assurance Co Ltd in London.

Any members of the public who believe they can help or who may be related to Captain Pritchard.

Any help greatly appreciated
