Westmorland / Hugh HUGILL marriage ca 1675 and death ca 1707
« on: Thursday 01 January 15 15:41 GMT (UK)  »
Hello
I hope someone can help me.  I have a Hugh Hugill of Barnskew, Reagill in parish of Crosby Ravensworth, born probably 1652, having children between 1676 and 1695 and I think dying between 1702 and 1709.  He was a maltster and had property in Appleby and possibly elsewhere.  I've quite a few references to him.
I think he was married to Margaret and there is a Boyd's index to a marriage in Brough under Stainmore in 1675. Does anyone have access to the records to this parish?  I also do not have his or his wife's burial which I would also like to find.
regards
Deborah

I hope someone can help me.

At the end of 1832 my great great grandfather (Thomas Gibson) was living with his grandmother in Carnkilly, Glenavy.  I would really love to know the identity of this woman.  She was described as being aged 85 in November 1832 and I am almost certain that she was a widow at that point.  It is possible that she was Thomas' paternal grandmother and therefore might also be a Gibson but I strongly suspect that she was his maternal grandmother and I have no idea of her surname.

So it's a bit cheeky and a long shot but I'm looking for burials of elderly widows in Glenavy (not sure of church) between Nov 1832 and Apr 1836.

Thanks in advance

Yorkshire (North Riding) / Christopher PICKERING 16th century CLEASBY
« on: Wednesday 06 May 09 17:30 BST (UK)  »
Hello
I hope someone can help me.  I have the copy of a will (dated ca 1542) of a Christopher Pickering who claims to be of Clesbie which I'm assuming is Cleasby.  His will gives the following information:
- son Christopher
- daughters Winifred and Mary
- first wife buried at Coniscliffe, second wife having occupation of his lease of Clesbie for life
- brother John.

Can anyone tell me anything about this family?

Hello
I hope someone can help me.  I have a copy of a will of a Christopher Pickering who wanted to be buried in Coniscliffe (I think) church next to his first wife.  I think the will dates from around 1542.  I would like to know if there is any record of his burial or anything else about him.

Lincolnshire Lookup Requests / 1680 marriage for DODSWORTH & BAYLEY - ALFORD?
« on: Wednesday 25 February 09 09:53 GMT (UK)  »
I hope someone can help.

I have made a note of a Lincolnshire marriage licence granted in 1680 for Robert DODSWORTH and Mary BAYLEY widow  - marriage to take place in Alford or Well.  I think I got this information from Family History Online but a) I can't check it because the site is closing down b) there may be other information that would be of interest.

I would be grateful if someone could confirm a) the details from the marriage licence itself b) where and when the marriage took place.
regards
Deborah

I have indicated online sources for the Westmorland elections of 1818 and 1826.  I also have transcripts of excerpts of the poll books for the Westmorland elections of 1768 and 1820 for Crosby Ravensworth parish only.

The dates of the elections were 7-9, 11-16 April 1768 and 15-18, 20-22 Mar 1820.

I am happy to do lookups.

For a look up request please start a new topic in the CENSUS and RESOURCE LOOKUP REQUEST board for this county.

Hello
I hope some kind person can help me.

The IGI has the marriage of Jacob Hopgood and Mary (Ann) Day on 25 Dec 1824 in Alverstoke.  If someone has access to the parish register then I would appreciate any other details.

Thanks
