Hi Everyone

Its been a number of years since I last used RootsChat, which has been most useful In researching my Family name of VINCENT. I was adopted at birth in 1949 and have found out all the information that I needed to know, The most exciting part of that journey.was to find out after 57 years that I have a half brother and sister.

i am on another journey now and I wish to find out if anyone could help in finding any Death notices more than likely in Victorian Papers, of a Bruce Edawrd Williams. He committed suicide in  a very messy way, on the 8th of November 1981 at the age of 42, he is buried at Springvale Cemetery in Outer Melbourne.

Any help would appreciated

Hi All Rootschatters,

I am probably asking for the impossible, but here goes.

Ever since I started researching my Ancestry, I have never been able to find a photo of my Great Grandfather, Henry Vincent, until possibly now.
Attached are two photo's one which is very blurred, and the other very good. Is it possible to cypher if the two photo's are of the same person, possibly by face profile or other. I have asked living relatives their thoughts to no avail.


Hope you have some luck.

:- Edited I should point out that Henry would be 54, when this photo was taken with his daughter Agnes.!!! I know for fact it is not her husband, as I have a photo of him.

Hi All rootschatters,

Is it possible for someone to lookup, or find a Marriage Notice, in one of the Tasmanian papers,  of my Great Grandfather, Henry Vincent, who married an Alison Polson.

They married on the 26th July 1875, at the home of an Alfred Boatright, in Burnie Tasmania

I am hoping to find the parents of Henry, who I have asked about in previous posts. I have his Marriage Certificate, but it does not show the names of his parents. I am hoping there may have been a notice of some sort which could help. His Death Certificate is the same no names.

Hi All Rootschatters,

I applied for a Cause of Death Certificate from Tasmania BDM.

After 3-4 weeks I received that Document, and I was totally frustrated in what I received.
It was a Post Mortem Certificate showing Cause of Death, and a couple of underlying issues re; that death.
There was no name of the deceased on it, nor when and where he died so basically it is  useless.

Do you think I would well be within my rights  to ask them to manually copy a separate Certificate.
As there is no mention of any person on it, and even though, he is dead now, I would have liked to post it for all to see.
A lot of States just cut & paste Certificates now, as this one was, but it's useless the way it is.
