Looking for someone willing to go to St. Laurence Church/Cemetery and check with the office for any Ellis burials dating from 1700 to 1890. If there is another older cemetery in the area, please advise.  Thanks,  Marilyn

My Ellis family resided in the Runcorn District from the 1700's into the late 1800's when the area became part of Lancashire England.  I am hoping to share information and find maiden names of some of my female ancestors.

Given names for the men: Joseph, Samuel, Charles, John and James were passed on from generation to generation.

Other surnames linked with the Ellis families were: Ratcliffe, Hignett, Williams and LLoyd.  Any help or direction will be appreciated.  Thanks, Les

Cavan / Wilson of County Cavan
« on: Monday 06 July 09 15:54 BST (UK)  »
I have read that there is available as a census substitute or miscellaneous records "Wilson of Co. Cavan" held at the Ruling Church Body Library. I understand that this library is in Dublin. Does anyone know if this record is held at a local Co. Cavan library? Or can someone check this record while in Dublin? If this is possible, contact me with the necessary names, places and dates that I know. Thanks,  Marilyn

Cavan / Wilson's in County Cavan
« on: Monday 29 June 09 17:57 BST (UK)  »
Looking for anyone who has Wilson ancestry living in Co. Cavan.  All I know is that the Wilson's came from Co. Longford in the 1600's to settle in Co. Cavan...probably the area close to the Louth border. We have given names of John, William, Thomas. In the 1830's or so, a William Wilson and his large family of 7 sons and 5 daughters left for Hope, Ontario, Canada (children's names Anne Jane married Stewart Hooey, Matilda, John, Mary, William, Mathew, David, Thomas, Henry, Charles, Joseph, Seraph and Essy).

Our Wilson's held their farming land in the SE section of Co. Cavan under Sir William Young.  Hopefully someone has information to help me in my search. Thanks!
