Trying to find a George Butcher who would have been living in Edinburgh area early 1920's. I think he was originally from west Scotland, possibly Glasgow. He worked in a dairy in Liberton/Gilmerton area of Edinburgh for a while in 1924. would have been born approx 1900.
Thanks Irene

Stirlingshire / Andrew Cameron gravestone Falkirk
« on: Thursday 06 October 16 08:25 BST (UK)  »
Looking to find out if anyone knows where Andrew Cameron, who died in Falkirk in 1921, is buried. He was married to Agnes Ronald who died in 1944. Any help would be appreciated. I know the council will do a search but at great expense. Hoping someone may have information in their tree. Many thanks. Irene

Stirlingshire / Mary Bethune McLeod (Russell)
« on: Tuesday 04 January 11 09:12 GMT (UK)  »
I have Mary Bethune McLeod Russell listed on the 1881 census as being the adopted daughter of David Russell in Muiravonside.  I know she registered the death of her mother, Mary Russell nee Graham, in Dunfermline in 1900 but can find no trace of her after that.   Anyone have her in their family tree?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Lanarkshire / Young

Hi
I am trying to find information on  Thomas Young who was born in Pennsylvania around 1874 but moved to Scotland before he was 7.  He was living with his parents John/James and Jane in Adelphi St in Gorbals, Glasgow in 1891 and in Edinburgh in 1881.  I don't know if they were his natural parents as they were both Scottish (did they go to USA then return?) or was he adopted by them, I don't know.

Thomas went on to have a son also called Thomas Young, born in 1892.  His birth certificate states he was illigitimate but fathers name was given as Thomas Young and mother Margaret McMahon.  In later years he took the name McMahon as his surname.

The plot thickens when Tom (born 1892) gets married in 1918 and parents are given as Thomas McMahon and Janet Young.

I am very confused, any help from all you expert genealogistswould be greatly appreciated!

Irene
