« on: Monday 24 July 06 02:41 BST (UK)  »
Hi all,

Could some one please be kind enough to look in Dalton, Lochmaben and/or Tinwald lair registers /burial records pre1855.

Seeking burial of James Lockerbie and wife Janette(Jean) Gilchrist Lockerbie
(Lockerby).  They had two children: Jean Smith Lockerbie  in 1801 and a son James in 1807. They were probably married about 1799/1800 but I can't find a record of that in Dumfriesshire.

I don't mean to ask for alot but if its an easy index to run through I be grateful.  I have no access to these records in the U.S.  Many, Many Thanks

Dumfriesshire / Lair list lookup? Lochmaben area
« on: Saturday 22 July 06 15:53 BST (UK)  »
I'm not familiar with how deaths and burial were recorded in the 1800's.

I need help locating  death and/or burial dates and places for James Lockerbie and his wife Jean Gilchrist Lockerbie.  They had two kids that I know of : Jean Smith Lockerbie born 1801 in parish of Urr and James born in 1807 parish of Kirkgunzeon .  I don't think they remained there but returned to Dumfriesshire.

Their son James married Mary Ann Pearson of Dalton about 1823 and had 3 children in the Lochmaben area.

If anyone could help me out I'd be grateful.

Midlothian / Bonnyrigg - Dalhousie Castle- Somerville
« on: Wednesday 28 June 06 15:16 BST (UK)  »
Jane Somerville Honeyman died 15 July 1938 at the stables of Dalhousie Castle.  She had returrned from living for a while in Canada to die at home. Does anyone know why some one very ill and dying would be there while the castle saw being used as a school?  Was any part of it used as a hospital? Her permanent address was in Lasswade.

The only other connection would be if her family was related to the castle owners.  Her parents were Archibald Malcolm and Jane Somerville Malcolm of Lasswade. who both died in 1893 and 1894. Jane Somerville Malcolm's parents were Alexander Somers (Somerville) and Elizabeth Adams.
Archibald Malcolm's parents were John Malcolm and Ann whose maiden name was possibly Kinnell , Kinnnie or Ramsie Hard to read on Jane's death certificate.
Also seeking thier burial spots.
