Gloucestershire / George Williams marriage to Miss Carpenter
« on: Sunday 21 April 24 13:07 BST (UK)  »
I have George Williams born about 1852 at Woolaston. His wife on the census from 1891 through to 1911 is recorded as being Mary Williams, born Woolaston, about 1851.

I have them with five children born between 1881 and 1890, one in Liverpool, the other four in Canning Town, London. All children recorded have the mothers maiden name as Carpenter. On one of the children's birth certificates it records the mother as Matilda ( not Mary ) formerly Carpenter.

I have looked everywhere for the marriage, trying all different names and spellings, but to date I am unable to find the marriage, although 1911 census, states married 21 years, which would make it about 1890. This could be a misprint. All children have been born by then. I suppose there is a possibility they may not have even married.

I would be grateful for any information if there was a marriage, or even no marriage at all.

Louth / John Warwick Reynolds born about 1849 Dundalk
« on: Thursday 22 February 24 11:36 GMT (UK)  »
I am trying to find the parents of John Warwick Reynolds born about 1849 in Dundalk.

John is on the 1851 census as grandson to Margaret Reynolds nee Bennion, living in Liverpool.

John is on the 1861 census as grandson to Drucilla Warwick nee Pretty, living in Yorkshire.

John is on the 1871 census as nephew to Fanny Warwick, his aunt living in Bradford.

In 1872 John William Warwick marries Esther Myers in Yorkshire. To date I have the couple with twelve children and have been able to track most of them down, although still ongoing.

It would appear the parentage is a Reynolds / Warwick combination.
The Warwick connection would appear to be with Much Hadham in Hertfordshire, where it appears this branch of the family moved to Yorkshire.

I would be very grateful for any information or where to find it to solve this would be gratefully appreciated.

Essex / Samuel Warwick born Birchanger about 1728
« on: Thursday 08 February 24 09:17 GMT (UK)  »
I am trying to confirm who the parents of Samuel Warwick born about 1728 in Birchanger who married Sarah Malin 15th October 1749 at St. Marys, Birchanger. I have them with at least seven children to date.

I have an extensive database of Warwick families who all tie in and believe that Samuel somehow descends from Robert Warwick who is top of my tree, born about 1540 at Furneux Pelham, but until now I can not positively find the link. From Robert Warwick, the Warwick families were located in Furneux Pelham, Farnham, Essex, Stansted Mountfitchet and the Hadhams, just over the border in Hertfordshire and the surrounding villages of Bishops Stortford. We all seem to be related, and there are lots of us, but it is a case of confirming the correct parents of Samuel.

I know there is over a 200 year gap from Robert to Samuel and I have linked other descendants of Robert.

I would be grateful for any information regarding confirming the parents of Samuel.

Hertfordshire / The Miles family from Bishops Stortford
« on: Saturday 29 October 22 09:53 BST (UK)  »
I am trying to trace what happened to three Miles children that were born in the Bishops Stortford area.

Frederick Charles Miles Warwick born 17th March 1911, it would appear that Frederick was born out of wedlock, but dropped the Warwick surname when his mother Florence Warwick married Frederick Charles Miles.

Dora Georgina Miles, born 6th March 1913

Ethel Miles born 18th August 1917

To date I feel I have looked everywhere to try to find what happened to them or where did they go, I have been unable to find any on the 1939 register.

Any thoughts or information where to look next would be gratefully received.

London and Middlesex / Elizabeth Eliza Sparshott
« on: Saturday 23 July 22 08:49 BST (UK)  »
I am trying to trace Elizabeth Eliza Sparshott before 1901. On the 1901 census Elizabeth is recorded as Ellen and is with John Warwick. Elizabeth is recorded as being 23 years old and born in Brighton. To date I have not found her on any of the previous census records.

She is on 1911 as Lizzie and married to John Warwick and now recorded as being 45 years old, still recorded as being born in Brighton.

I believe Elizabeth dies in 1940.

I would be grateful for any information regarding Elizabeth before 1901.

London and Middlesex / Ancestor in an asylum
« on: Wednesday 20 July 22 15:44 BST (UK)  »
I have recently learnt of an ancestor of mine being placed in an asylum about 1910 and at the time she was living in the Westminster area. I do not know which asylum she was placed, but would have to start with one in the Westminster area. I do not know how long she was in the asylum and I do not know at this stage when she died. I have searched for her death of various sites, but to date no luck.

Is there any site which I could contact to try to find which asylum she was in. I would be grateful for any information.

London and Middlesex / Sarah Harris with George Hammond Conradi
« on: Saturday 30 April 22 12:41 BST (UK)  »

Sarah Harris was born at Little Hadham, Hertfordshire about 1861 the daughter of Thomas Harris and Louisa Gould.

On the 1891 census Sarah is 28 years old and single and residing with her brother George Harris as a visitor. She is recorded as being born Bromley, but is dittoed with the children of George who were all born Bromley.

In 1893 Sarah gives birth to a son, Howard John Harris, born 4th February 1893.

Between 1896 and 1902 Sarah gives birth to five children all with the surname Conradi. All the Conradi children’s births via The General Register Office, have the mother’s maiden name as Harris.

1901 census records Sarah, born Little Hadham, as the wife of George Hammond Conradi, but George’s first wife Alice Harriet Powell is still alive, carrying the surname Conradi and married, but not with George. Alice dies in 1904.

After all the above, I am looking for a marriage for George Hammond Conradi to Sarah Harris. I have looked everywhere, but to date can not find it. Perhaps they never married, perhaps I have missed something.

By 1911 George has remarried to Mary Ann Gurney, nee Adams, married in 1910.

To date I can not find a death for Sarah Conradi or Harris before 1911 nor can I find Sarah on the 1911 as either Sarah Conradi or Harris.

I would be grateful for any information regarding my enquiries above.

Yorkshire (West Riding) / Yorkshire will 1894
« on: Tuesday 28 December 21 09:25 GMT (UK)  »
I am doing some research for a colleague from Yorkshire.

One of his ancestors died 1894 in Leeds and left a will. Where would he apply to get a copy and how much would it cost him.

London and Middlesex / George Greenhill Kekwick
« on: Sunday 19 December 21 11:51 GMT (UK)  »
i am trying to find out what happened to George Greenhill Kekwick, born 20th May 1860, born Watford, the son of John and Emmeline Kekwick.

George married Emily May Warwick 23rd July 1880 at St John's Church, Bethnal Green, London.

On the 1881 census Emily May is with her parents, at 23 Arnold Row, but George is not with her. Emily has a son Walter G Kekwick aged 6 months with her. George G is living with his parents and recorded as being unmarried.

After 1881 I have been unable to find George G or his alleged son Walter G.

It would appear that Emily remarries in 1897 to Robert Molton. Any advice or information regarding George G Kekwick or his son Walter G Kekwick would be gratefully apricated.
