Were these two gentlemen brothers, cousins or just friends?
Thomas Bouch married Catherine
Lancelot Bouch married Elizabeth Thompson
Catherine was a Bouch too, as she was born in 1804 in Moresby of John Bouch and Mary Harrison.
Her two brothers were Robert b 1806 and John b 1807, neither of whom had children as far as I know.
Thomas was born at Whitehaven in 1803 and became a West India & General Broker listed in census 1851
Lancelot Bouch was chr 24 Nov 1805 at Holy Trinity Whitehaven.
His parents were Lancelot Bouch b 1779 and Sarah Wilkinson, who married 12 Nov 1802 at Holy Trinity Whitehaven.
If Thomas and Lancelot of the double marriage were brothers this would make Thomas the eldest of 7 children:-
Thomas 1803
Lancelot 1805
Ann 1807
Sarah 1810
John 1812
William 1814
Robert 1819
Here is an interesting twist:-
The Grandparents of Thomas b 1803 were
Martin Bouch b 1747 St Bees and Elizabeth and their 6 children included a John chr 13 Aug 1776 at St James Whitehaven.
So this John could possibly be the selfsame John father of Catherine Bouch - but I have no evidence for this whatsoever.
So is it brothers, or cousins, or friends?
Many thanks
