« on: Friday 30 May 08 12:40 BST (UK)  »
Hi Folks,
Charlotte is my 2nd g'granny.  I have come to a point where I need good advice or a search for her forebears.  She was born/christened in Wells, Somerset (I have, unfortunately, mislaid the source for that) and any help would be appreciated.  I have done all usual things, Google, Ancestry etc. but to no avail....any suggestions as to what I may do next would be more than welcome

Thanks

Lanarkshire / Alexander BROWN & Beatrice LEINE
« on: Friday 09 May 08 09:44 BST (UK)  »
Does anyone know a little bit more about these people?  They were apparently born in Lesmahagow and married on 16 Dec  1692.  I understand it was Alexander's son James (26 Nov 1698)  who was part of a branch of the local Covenanters.  I've read one of the stories about Graham CLAVERHOUSE and how James hoodwinked him into letting him go on three separate occasions (power to the elbow)
Any information on them or extended family would be most welcome.

Many thanks

Any ideas on how I can confirm if these cottages existed in the mid 1940's?  I have emailed Dartford Library twice  ( I must owe them a book fine from 1950) and to date, no reply. ???

I would be most grateful for any advice, pointers etc.

Best from Glasgow

Kent Completed Lookup Requests / Woe is me (aka my Dad)
« on: Tuesday 24 January 06 08:59 GMT (UK)  »
My Dad, Roger (known on here as Smuckerooney) has asked me to leave a message to see if anyone can let him know the link to Jen Sheenan (I think) He had volunteered to do some transcribing for the 1861 census but due to an accident at work (shattered the left wrist and broke 2 fingers on the right hand) he's unable to do it...hence me being the scribe.

If anyone can help would they please reply to this site and I'll email her.

Thankyou

Hello folks,
Please excuse my ignorance but what is the information needed for a valid check on the 1841 census for Kent?  I don't want to waste the precious time of colleagues on here with lack of info submitted by me.
I would be most grateful for advice...

Thanks

« on: Tuesday 20 December 05 21:50 GMT (UK)  »
Hi Folks,
Can any budding historian tell me the history of Woodilee Cottages in Lenzie?  I believe it used to be in Stirlingshire before East Dunbartonshire....any help for a friend would be appreciated.

Thanks

Hi Folks,
Has anyone ever heard of 'Spectacle Cottage'? in Dunblane.  A friend of mine has a birth certificate referring to the cottage circa 1900.  Any ideas at all?

She thinks it may heve been close to the cathedral. :-\
