Technical Help / Unable to Access Twitter.
« on: Wednesday 08 January 20 20:51 GMT (UK)  »
Whilst some may not use it. but, I am unable to access my twitter account.

The progress bar (using Safari) travels along an inch and sits there for the remainder of the time the computer is on.

I've tried their help section but this doesn't seem to solve anything.  Reset password gets the same progress bar treatment.  Has it been hacked?  Don't really know what I'm looking for.

Any tips on regaining access?

Regards, Andrew.

Devon / Taylor Family - Appledore.
« on: Monday 01 April 19 20:32 BST (UK)  »
I'm hoping to find some guidance/information on the Taylor family from Appledore.

We have the following:-
Name    John Taylor
D.O.B      around Sept. 1887
Died         Dec. 1952
Age          on death 65
Died.        Bodmin
Married Evelyn May Houghton at St. Paul’s Charlestown, Cornwall.

It is understood that his mother died when he was still young and his father remarried.

Any pointers to where we can go from here would be appreciated.

Regards, Andrew.

Technical Help / Mac Desktop/Brother Scanner Problems.
« on: Saturday 13 October 18 16:01 BST (UK)  »
I am having problems reconnecting my scanner to my computer after maintenance.

It's a Brother DSmobile 820w scanner and Mac running MacOS Mojave 10-14 (I upgraded hoping that would help but, no).

It appears to download from the Brother website and install but, upon opening for use says "incomplete or missing".

Suggestions appreciated.

Regards, Andy.

Suffolk / SUFFOLK ROLLS OF HONOUR FOR WW1 AND WW2.
« on: Saturday 16 September 17 16:08 BST (UK)  »
I have one each of the above.  They came with the EADT a couple of years or so ago.

The WW1 issue has listed the 10,626 (inc civilians) that died.

The WW2 issue has listed the 3,464 (inc civilians) that died.

They were produced in conjunction with Suffolk County Council and I'm not claiming them to be 100% accurate, there is the odd repeat that I noticed.

Each Parish is listed alphabetically with their respective losses.

If any Rootschatter wishes to receive one or both please ask.  Location for collection is the Western end of the Shotley  peninsular or, can post.

Regards, Andrew.

Technical Help / Difficulty in Accessing a Website.
« on: Thursday 20 April 17 20:33 BST (UK)  »
One of the regular websites I look at (online national newspaper) is causing me major problems.

Does not load properly and has to be reloaded, mostly a "forced" reload many times and looking at any of the pages from the main page has the same result.  This started fairly recently after causing no trouble.

If left, page eventually loads fully.  Two other national and 2 local newspaper sites all work fine.

Any help appreciated.

Regards,   Andrew.

New Zealand Completed Requests / BAYRAM
« on: Friday 16 December 16 20:33 GMT (UK)  »
I have found a reference to Bayram in the Gisborne area of NZ and, after some research, it appears that they may be distantly related to me.

The names I have are Ron (deceased 2012), wife (*).

Any further help/info etc appreciated.

Regards, Andrew.
