Hi there

Im tyring to track down ancestors of my grandmother jane winifred williams who was born at Pennant, Gwyddelwern in AUG1891 to Hugh Williams and Ellen Jane Evans.  I believe her maternal  grandmother was Jane Thomas who I think may have been on her second marriage but Im getting thoroughly lost amongst williams, evans, thomas and owens when trying to track anything back?

Ive found the 1851, 1871 and 1891 census online at GENUKI but can anyone help out with the others please - particularly focussing on Pennant in Gwyddelwern?

thanks

World War One / 2nd Southern Military Hospital Bristol - photograph
« on: Friday 07 December 12 16:57 GMT (UK)  »
Hi everyone

I came across the attached photograph with some narrative on the back to suggest my grandfather was sent there in January 1919 on returning from the war.

Does anyone know the history of the place or if records survive regarding what sort of treatments went on there or even patient records?

thanks

Lancashire / T Seymour Mead information - photograph
« on: Friday 07 December 12 16:53 GMT (UK)  »
Hi everyone

I came across the attached photograph of a T Seymour Mead shop where I belive my grandfather used to work.  I think it is in Manchester and someone has suggested it may have been on the corner of Copson Street in Didsbury.

I was wondering if anyone is able to confirm this or had any further information on the company, its employees or its history?

Does anyone know who owns it now - just wondering if they might still have an archive or employment records?

thanks

« on: Thursday 23 August 12 15:52 BST (UK)  »
Hi

Im trying to track down any information I can on my great uncle who I am told was Vicar of Bedlington in Northumberland.

I believee his name was Alexander Davison although this may also be shown as Alex or even Alec. I dont know exact dates but I would have thought he would be born around 1909.

I think his fathers name was James and he had two brother John and I think Thomas.

Any help anyone can give would be greatly appreciated!!

Hi there

Im trying to find out as much information as I can about my grandfather William Huw (Hugh) Jones who I believe served in the 8th Battalion Cheshire Regiment.

I believe from his work records that he joined up in June 1916 and am told that he served in both Egypt and Messapotamia during WW1.

Does anyone know how I can find out more about his war record, service history or medals awarded please?

Northumberland Lookup Requests / Date of death for Morden RICHES Feb 1953?
« on: Thursday 13 January 11 10:39 GMT (UK)  »
Hi everyone

Im trying to confirm the date of death for Morden Riches born AUG 1879 and supposedly died during the Feb 1953 east coast floods (not sure if as a result of flooding or just at the same time!).

All the records I have from 1906 to 1933 place him around the Cramlington, Burradon, Dudley area although he was born in Aylsham, Norfolk before the family moved to Northumberland in 1888.

Assuming we can establish a date would there be local obituary records which would be available for his death and how would this be something some kind person would be able to look up for me?

Also any information on the death of his wife Ellenor/Eleanor Ann Riches born in APR 1884 and supposedly died around 1951 would be most welcome.

thanks

Northumberland / Brookside Seaton Burn - home of Rollo Barrett
« on: Thursday 06 January 11 13:16 GMT (UK)  »
Does anyone have any information on a house called Brookside that I believe used to be in Seaton Burn near cramlington?

I believe my grandmother was in service there before WW2 and that the house used to be owned by Rollo Samuel Barrett who used to own several mining companies in the area.  Im trying to track down when she might have gone into service and more about the barrett family who she use to work for.

unfortunately im not local to the area so dont know any history about whether it still exists, or was demolished.

All I do know is that in later years she worked in heddon hall, but whether this was for the barretts or not I dont know.

thanks for any information anyone can provide
