Is there a known reason why a couple from Dorset & Somerset would move to Guernsey, pre-1847, marry, 1847, and then emigrate to Australia, 1855?

Dorset Lookup Requests / HALLETT
« on: Monday 28 December 09 11:00 GMT (UK)  »
I have brought together a loose family grouping for 4 generations 1750 - 1850.
some associations are very loose but partially verified - need confirmation!
John H. b. abt 1764 (Father John H. mother Catherine - Eng&wales Christening: 1530-1906, film 1239203)
marries Elizabeth Hodder, b. 1770 (father Thomas Hodder, mother Mary) 25/6/1792.
Both found in 1841 census not in 1851 - died 1843 & 1850 resp.
William Hallett, b. abt 1794, (parents John & Elizabeth) married Jane Norman, b. abt 1798 (parents John Norman & Elizabeth).
1841 census William & Jane have at least 5 children - George, Jane, William, Robert & Rebecca and John, age 20 lives with them, not recorded as part of family!
John marries Rose Nicholls in Guernsey, 1847, and is recorded in 1851 CI census (HO107,piece:2530/ folio:320 / p.24 )
John & Rose have a son John born Guernsey, CI 1852.
They emigrated to South Australia in 1855 and John married Emily Ogilvy 1879.Beyond that point I have confirmed records.

Does anyone have links to the Hallett family that is primarily locate at Whitchurch Canonicorum, Dorset?
I've used the Whitchurch location to "sort" any conflicts to date - HELP!!!!
