I am tracing a George Ellis born Pocklington in 1855, he is my great great grandfather and coldstream guard. he married a Anne Newlove and had one daughter Harriet my great grandmother. She was born in Driffield workhouse in 1879. The problem is that we can find no death cert for George and think he may have been KIA possibly in South Africa during the boar wars??
