Clare / Moloney family in Co Clare in the 1800's
« on: Friday 01 April 16 05:39 BST (UK)  »
I live in Australia and would love to find out more about my Gr Grand Father James Moloney’s life in Tulla Co Clare in the 1800's with his mother and father.
James Moloney was born in Spaightspark Tulla  Co Clare on November 17th 1865. I have his birth certificate.  He died in Western Australia on Sept 12th 1954. I also have the death certificate.
I've not been able to find out when exactly he came to Australia.
His mother was Johanna (Judy or Julia) Walsh. Born about 1841. She died on May 8th 1913 in Ireland.
His father was James Moloney. He was a farmer. He was born in 1826 in Tulla and died at Killanena   Spaightspark  Parish of Feakle in 1901 between Oct-Dec.
He and Johanna (Judy or Julia) Walsh were married in 1854.
I do not have any certificates for his mother and father.
That’s all I know about them and I have not been able to source any certificates.
Any help or direction would be greatly appreciated, Karen

Clare / Healy and Pyne families carrigaholt
« on: Saturday 15 January 11 08:26 GMT (UK)  »
My great grandmother Serah (Sarah) Healy was born in Carrigaholt on July 3rd 1872 her parents were George Healy and Eliza Pyne. George and Eliza were married in Kilmurry on Jan 22nd 1856. I have done the index search and now will apply for a copy of Sarah's birth record and her parents marrige record and see if it can shed any more light on her parents and location. It would appear she has 6 brothers and sisters all also listed as born between 1864 and 1878 in Carrigaholt or otherwise simply noted as Clare. Their names were John, Susan, Charles, another Susan, Anne and George. I am trying to see if there is anyway to find out more about the family and their life in Carrigaholt . They were Roman Catholic. On Sarah's death certificate her father was recorded as being a teacher. Many thanks for your time and any help you can give. I am coming to Ireland and Clare in May to have a look around. Karen
