The Common Room / Charles Llewellyn Delany
« on: Thursday 29 February 24 09:58 GMT (UK)  »
Charles was born in Darlaston,Staff in 1882, the son of John Alfred and Eliza Delany. The last sight of him is his marriage to Lucy Mary Hannah Hatton nee Holt in 1912. He the disappears. Lucy then refers to herself under either Hatton or Holt and married. I've searched for a divorce without luck. I've looked in the Newspaper Archives too. I'm wondering now if he went abroad?
Any help will be appreciated.

Monmouthshire Lookup Requests / Gwent Archives,Ebbw Vale
« on: Saturday 22 February 20 10:03 GMT (UK)  »
Hi, Is there anyone who is planning a visit to the above? If so, would you be in a position to check the records of the Monmouthshire Police Constabulary for me please? I'm interested in a PC Rees Walters who was in Ebbw Vale and then Pontypool circa 1895. There are newspaper reports mentioning him and Mary Ann Davies and an Affiliation Order for Mary's baby,my father. By 1900 Rees was in Pembroke but I'm trying to find out more about him.
Many thanks

Denbighshire / Pant Du, Trefriw

I have an ancestor, Jane Smith nee Roberts who was born 1807 at Brynheilyn, Pentrefoelas. The Roberts family moved to Cheshire and by the early 1830's Jane and most of her siblings are living in Manchester whilst the parents,Robert and Margery are living in Chester. Jane is widowed in 1844, I cant find her in 1851 but on the 1861 census she is living with her brother Hugh,a widower, and a spinster sister in Manchester. Jane died on the 7th of August 1861 at Pantdu,Trefriw. She is buried in Manchester and the burial record shows the place of death. So, given that Trefriw and Pentrefoelas are fairly close, would you say that its likely that she was stayting with a relative at the time of her death? I'm in the process of researching the family of the 1861 occupant of Pant Du, Jane Williams nee Owens to try and find a link but would appreciate the thoughts of others. Many thanks

Denbighshire / Pentrefielas

Hi, looking for someone who has local knowledge of this area. I’m trying to find out more about a farm called Bryn Heilyn ( it’s stoll in existence ). My GGGrandmother was born there in 1812 but by the 1830’s the family were living in Cheshire/Lancashire. I’m interested in the History of the farm - Denbighshire archives have nothing about it. The name interests me Heilyn - as its associated with the Goch family of Betws and Penmachno - as Robert Roberts in reportedly a lineal descendant.

Staffordshire Lookup Requests / Burial 1915
« on: Wednesday 16 May 18 20:40 BST (UK)  »
My Gran, who was born in Bilston, married at the Church of the Oratory,Birmingham in 1913. She and her husband lived in Gravelly Hill, Birmingham and their son, John Walter Evans was born in Dec 1914. Sadly the baby died in Rhyl in 1915. I don't know what my gran was doing in Rhyl but her home address is shown as Gravelly Hill on the death cert. I'm now trying to find out where the baby is buried, I checked with local archives at Rhyl but they couldn't find him there. I've looked on Birmingham archives and can't see him there either.

Armed Forces / RAF Cranwell
« on: Sunday 05 November 17 17:52 GMT (UK)  »
Hi, have recently discovered a relative who was a Boy Apprentice at RAF Cranwell in 1924. He went on the serve in the RAF during WW2 and his death certificate from 1988 states he was a retired Warrant Officer. Does anyone have any pictures from Cranwell circa 1924? His service record isn't online as yet but I do know that I can apply for his service records for a fee.
