Yorkshire (North Riding) / PHILLIP HENRY RICHARDSON born 1883 BIRKBY. NORTHALLERTON
« on: Sunday 07 February 10 01:55 GMT (UK)  »
Trying to find when Phillip and possibly his elder brother Ernest came to Sydney Australia early 1900. Phillip was about 18-20 years old. Their father John had died and the family has been split apart. I have been searching for a long time and can't find when they left. I have found quite a few ships with Richardson's as crews but the brothers not on the same ships, and I'm sure big brother would be looking after him. Phillip left Australia sometime before 1911 as he got married in NZ to Jessie May Duck and came back to Australia before 1918 to live.
Any help would be appreciated
Thanks
Judy

New Zealand Completed Requests / Thomas Henry DUCK and Jessie URQUHART - N.Z.*COMPLETED*
« on: Thursday 04 February 10 05:31 GMT (UK)  »
Thomas and Jessie were married in 1873 Wellington NZ, not sure where they died. Thomas in 1908 and Jessie 1905. I know she was born in Inverness, Scotland 1854, but don't know where Thomas was born.  His father's name was John and his mother Eliza Miles.
In 2005 I got a message from Riley on your forum and he said there was a Jessie DUCK on 1893 Electoral Roll (Women) in WAIRARAPA electorate. Can anyone put that list up for me please

My husband's grandfather Phillip Henry Richardson born 1883 Birkby, Northallerton, Yorkshire He is supposed to have come to Sydney. Australia around early 1900 with his older brother Ernest (born 1978 Catterick, Richmond, Yorkshire). Phillip went to Wellington N.Z. and married Jessie May Duck 4 Jan. 1911. I don't known if Ernest went with him. Phillip and Jessie and baby girl were back in Sydney as he applied to enlist in A.I.F. WW1 14 Sep 1918. I have all his electoral rolls after then, but would LOVE to find out when he and his brother  arrived in Australia and what ship he was on, to and from N.Z. I have tried so many shipping websites, but they were never the dates I needed. Hope to hear from someone.

I am trying to find husband's grandfather Phillip Henry RICHARDSON who was born at Berkley Grange, Yorkshire about 1884. His father Thomas RICHARDSON was a farmer there at the time. I can not find it anywhere and it may have been a Manor/Family Estate of someone that he was working and living on their land. If I could find out the town, it would make things easier to search.
:)Thanks STRICKO :)
