Hi all, been researching an incident in WW2 when the aircraft ND922 was lost over Stuttgart on July 25, 1944. Any info or photos of the pilot Raymond Charles Banfield would be truly appreciated. I would love a decent photo also of his memorial chair in St. Peter's Anglican Church in Victoria Park, Western Australia. Thanks for reading. Very best wishes, Mark.

Hi all, been researching a man on the Nantwich war memorial - Joseph Wheeler who was killed in action on July 25, 1944 aged 20. He worked in the L.M.S. Railways at Crewe and Madeley, but I have no dates or records of his service. Any relatives out there, I would love to contact. Thanks very much for reading, best wishes, Mark.

Dear forum members, I am putting together a presentation project ('MORE THAN A NAME') for Remembrance Sunday in Crewe and Nantwich regarding the names on the two relevant war memorials and plan to have them displayed via a large screen by the two memorials for a period of two weeks before the ceremony. During the 20 years of collecting, I have acquired 164 for the Crewe and 49 for the Nantwich memorials. I have many more, but some cannot be enlarged as they are of poor quality. If you do have a photo of a relative that you have not submitted before, then can you contact me by PM to get my Email address to send the images.

        Thank you very much, Mark.

Dear forum members, many years ago I published a book on the sinking of the old pre-dreadnought battleship HMS Formidable on January 1, 1915, in the English Channel titled BEFORE THE BELLS HAVE FADED. Since then I have been fascinated with the story and have continued to research the story and collect photos and articles relating to the old battleship. I now have many many more photos than were published in the old book and intend to put them in all in a new scrapbook style book to be privately published in aid of the Lyme Regis lifeboat. Basically, if any forum members have relatives associated with HMS Formidable (survived or perished) or the sinking of the Formidable, including the rescue of sailors by the Brixham trawler 'Provident' (William Pillar and crew) or residents of Lyme Regis who helped in the rescue of the survivors (Sgt. Stockley, Mrs Atkins at Pilot Boat Inn etc.) then can you please get in touch with me please so I can include your photos and memories in the new publication. Closing date for photos will be the end of November. Thanks very much, Mark Potts.
