Hi,

I am trying to find out what church my ggg grandfather may have been baptised in in the Welshampton area 1793, I have found his baptism on the IGI but just says Welshampton, his name is James Cooper Clarke, and that is all I know about his baptism.  I have him in the 1841 and 51 census living in Old Crane Chester with his wife Martha (nee Roberts) and she was born in Overton Flintshire.

Any help most appreciated. (they would have been CofE)

Cheers

Anglesey / Cae Warren

Hi,

I am hoping someone can help, I am trying to locate Cae Warren on the 1871 census Holyhead, I have found it on the 1861 and 1881, 1891, 1901 I have tried looking for the family that lived there in 1871 but I am wondering if the 1871 is missing for that area.

I have searched areas on the ancestry site, but I am unable to locate any of the family in 1871 I know they were there from 1861 - 1891, and a different family are at the address in 1901.

The names I am looking for in 1871 are William Jones born abt 1838 Llaniestyn Holyhead, and his wife Ann(e) born 1841 Holyhead.

I am researching this for a friend, he has William and Anne's marriage cert from 1860, William's father is Lewis Jones, farmer, Anne Was Anne Thomas.

If anyone can help I would be most gratefu.

Cheshire Completed Lookup Requests / 1861 census look-up please

Hi,

I am trying to find JAMES COOPER CLARKE born Shropshire, but living in the Chester area,  he was a lock-keeper on the 1851 census.  I have the marriage certificate of his son (my gg grandfather) (liverpool 1858),  I know it sounds complicated, The Son William was born in Chester, but married and lived in Liverpool, Toxteth Park from 1861 census onwards until his death in 1895.  On the marriage certificate it states William's father's occupation as Engineer.

William's father I think remained in Chester with wife Martha, born Over, Flintshire, there were other children, Timothy and Thomas, I have no records of them after 1851, I think Thomas was born in 1839, Chester.

I am also trying to find William's birth record (1837) Chester, I have no Idea where in Chester he was born, so this is a brick wall for me.

On the 1851 census, they were living in the Chester Holy Trinity area, Crane Street

I don't have the details at the moment as I have lent them to my cousin!  I put a posting on this forum re the 1841 and 51, I had a reply from Peter?  I am trying to find the posting!

We believe that WILLIAM CLARKE may have been christened WILLIAM BISHOP CLARKE, but are not sure as he never used the BISHOP bit in any of the census records or on his marriage certificate.

That info was passed to my father about 10 years ago!

If anyone can help, I would be very grateful, no matter how small the info may be.

Regards

 :)

Hi is there anyone in Chester that can do a birth look-up, I am looking for maybe 1836-38.

Don't have solid details yet, but I am hoping to have a marriage cert to try and confirm father's name.

I have been looking for a birth record of William Clarke, Born Chester!  I don't know where about in Chester, but from 1841 census I have found William Clarke age 4, with parents James Cooper Clarke, Mother Martha.

Father's occupation Lock keeper, living at 7 Crane Bank, Holy Trinity Chester.

I contacted Chester RO, they had a look on parish records for Holy Trinity, between 1835-1839, but found no William Clarke, however, they did find Thomas Clarke with the same father and mother's names and father's occupation as lock keeper, birth was registered in 1839.  I am wondering if William was born in a different parish.

Through other family info, I have been informed that William may have been christened William Bishop Clarke, but he only used his first and surname.

Later on in life, Willaim has a grandson born in Toxteth Park Liverpool, called William Bishop Clarke, but the pore little mite died before he was one year old!

I have the family on every census from 1841 to 1901, William living in Toxteth park from 1871 onwards until his death in 1895.

Any help, or any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks.
