DENIS RONAN, OR ROONAN, My GGrandfather B: circa 1820 married to Bridget or Bodelia Sullivan, any information to confirm would be fantastic. I have tracked them to a place named ballynakill?? rosmore Galway in the Griffith Valuations.  My Great Grandmother Julia Ronan, listed Rosmore as where she was born in Ireland on her childrens birth certificates here,  but I have had no luck finding how she came to Australia.  Could anyone please check this out for me.

Galway / HUGHES family, Tuam Galway
« on: Wednesday 02 March 11 12:05 GMT (UK)  »
My G Grandfather Walter Hughes came to Australia from Tuam Ireland sometime in the mid 19th Century.  The only record I have found for a Walter Hughes is the Griffith Valuation for CLAREGALWAY, Cahergowan or Summerfield. Of course I am not 100% sure this is him, but have found no others.
I cannot find out anything more about how he got here or who came with him.  He lived in a goldmining area in Victoria, Australia for most of his life here and married and raised a family. His wife, Julia Ronan, also from Galway lived in the towns of JERICHO, RED JACKET & DRY CREEK over a number of years and died within months of each other in 1902.  Their children were Denis, Michael, Honoria, Walter, Patrick, Wiliam, John & Maryanne.  My grandfather was Walter and I would love to find out more about the Hughes from in and around Tuam if anyone can help.
