Handwriting Deciphering & Recognition / Birthplace Charles Eggleton born about 1831

Hi, I am struggling to identify this place of birth. Above the St Giles, Reading entries , it looks like Lamont or lamming, and maybe Hull or Bucks

Hi, on the death certificate of Ellen Feeney in 1926 Gorbals Glasgow, her parents are listed as Edward Mossman - Master mariner deceased and Ann Mossman (ms McKay).
She has also been married to David Begg in Wick, Caithness in 1859 when her parents are listed as Daniel Hume fisherman (deceased)and Ann Hume (ms McKay)
Her 2nd Marriage is to Patrick Feeney in 1880 Glasgow where she is listed as Ellen Hume Mossman and her parents are given as Edward Rawlings Mossman (shipmaster deceased) and Ann Mossman (ms Mckay).
I have had no luck finding this Edward Mossman and wondered if there is any way of finding him through naval records (master mariner/shipmaster).
Any suggestions welcome as this has been a brick wall for some time now

Lanarkshire / Lizzie Kennedy Domestic servant Greenhead, Glasgow

Hi, I am trying to find information on the mother of Jane Watt Bewglass Kennedy. she is listed as Lizzie Kennedy, Domestic servant on Janes' birth cert. and also on Janes' wedding cert and death cert. Jane was born in 1892 in the Bridgeton area of Glasgow and died in the Cathcart area in 1962. Her marriage was also in Glasgow . I have found a 13 year old Lizzie Kennedy in the 1891 census who is a domestic servant living with her grandparents, but feel it unlikely she is the mother due to her young years although I am aware it would not be the first time a young teenager gave birth. Any thoughts or information will be gratefully received

The Common Room / Looking for Bridgit Docherty from Ireland/Alexanders Buses Edinburgh

Hi, this is not for my family research but on behalf of a good friend. She is looking to see if anyone knows what became of a Bridget Docherty, who came over to work in Birnam, Perthshire in the 1940's for Stewart and Phemie Robertson, then went to work with Alexanders buses (believed to be in Edinburgh or thereabouts) She would be in her eighties if she is still alive. My friend is the daughter of Mr and Mrs Robertson. Other information I have is that she had siblings believed to be named Hannah and Frances and they all came over here to work on the tatties. I know its a long shot but if anyone can help I would really appreciate any information you can give me

Argyllshire / Duncan Livingston and Mgt McCormick married Kilfinichen & Kilvickeon 1811

Hi, I have an extract from the marriage of the above mentioned couple and am trying to establish the place names mentioned. It looks like Duncan Livingston in Creich and Margaret McCormick in Uisken. I am trying to find both the births for this couple to establish their parents. I have attached an extract to show the handwriting for your perusal. Thanks in anticipation

Roxburghshire / Elisabeth Tait - where did she come from ?

Hi, I am researching my GG Grandmother Elisabeth Tait.

All I know about her is that she married my GG Gfather James Johnston in 1842 (18th June) at the Toll house on Coldstream bridge (this information was found in a newspaper, I have no official certificates). Subsequent census entries give her place of birth as Scotland. On her death cert in 1875 (2/11/1875) her age is given as 56 which would place her birth around 1819. I have searched Scotlands People and come up with some possibilities.

B 1816 Hawick, Roxburgh parents William and Elizabeth
b 1817 Peebles, parents John and Mary
b 1818 Manor Peebles parents James and Marion.

I have listed those as most likely because of location ie closeness to the border. Given that her children were called Richard, Jane, William, Luke, Isabella, Margaret, James and George (my GGfather), (her husbands parents were Richard and Isabella) I have concluded that the first Miss Tait born in Hawick is most likely, although there is a discrepancy in age which could be down to vanity

. Can anyone help me verify this information as I feel I am clutching at straws and would welcome suggestions as to how to establish her exact identity.

Northumberland / James Johnston and Elizabeth Tait, when and where did they marry

Hi, I am trying to find the marriage of James Johnston and Elizabeth Tait. (Probably pre 1843, the year their first child was born). In the 1861 census it gives Elizabeths place of birth as Scotland. I have searched on Genes Reunited for the English side of things and Scotlands people to see if I could find a marriage there, I have also used the family search.org site. So far drawn up blanks. James was born in Ilderton, Northumberland in 1815. Elizabeth must have been born about 1820, given the 5 year age gap in the census.

I would appreciate any help and suggestions as to where I could search, perhaps there are websites I have not tried. I have confirmed the maiden name of Tait, from the birth cert of their eldest child Richard in 1843 in Glendale Northumberland (they lived in Wooler)

The 1851 census gives Elizabeths place of birth as Ilderton, Northumberland, the same as James, just to add some confusion
