Family History Beginners Board / Blackmores in London and Devon

I've tried plenty of geneology sites but to no avail,this forum may have some answers for me!
In the 1871 census,I found a Silas Blackmore married to Mary (maiden name Ackland) living in Shoreditch,London.I now have a copy of his birth certificate which shows that he was born in Bishops Tawton,Devon in 1838.His Father,Richard was married to Mary (maiden name possibly Lane but hard to decipher the writing!) and worked as a dairyman.This is where I have hit a brick wall with my search.If anyone has more information,I would be over the moon.Hope I can be of help to others as well
