Does anyone know anything about the Poots family of Co. Down?
Also, does anyone know how they are related to the Crane family? Family trees and dates will especially be useful. I have already been on the surnames of co. down freewebs website but i don't know how any of them are related to me, only that my great grandmother was Martha Poots! Please help! 8)

Tyrone / Baxter family
« on: Wednesday 27 April 05 20:28 BST (UK)  »
Hi,
I'm looking for information on my Baxter family links to Tyrone. I know that my gggrandparents Robert Baxter married to Jane Henderson moved to Co. Tyrone in the early 1900's, probably with their children Maria, Mary, Kyle and Robert. They came from Glasgow originally (Lanark) but may have moved to Wigtownshire before moving to Ireland. Jane Henderson's parents may also have moved from Scotland to Tyrone. Their names were Issac Henderson and Mary Williamson.
I also know that there is some link to the name Wilson, although I don't know what it is. The three sisters 'Gertie, Lucy and Mable' seem to be cousins or something. I'd like to sind out more about this too.
Can anyone help?

Hi,
I am looking for information on my great great great grandparent and their parents. My gggrandparents were Robert Baxter and Jane Henderson who married in 1892. They married at 46, St. Vincent crescent.

Robert Baxter's parents were Robert Baxter and Jane Hamilton. He lived at 1, Hope street, Glasgow.

Jane Henderson's parents were Isaac(?) Henderson and Mary or May Williamson. She lived at 9, Grace(?) street, Glasgow.

I would love some more info on all these people, especially the latter two. They don't appear to be in any records that I have searched, but I suppose that doesn't mean they are not there somwhere.

Can anyone please help?

Down / Peoples/ Peebles

I would love to find out who my great grandfather's parents were, however there is one problem: he was an orphan and was adopted. His name was Alexander Peoples and he was born early 20th century (I believe). He married Maggie McClure and had three daughters.
My grandmother recalls him telling her that he remembered being brought to see a dying woman in hospital as a child. This may have been his mother. He fought in WW2 and was captured. He lived to be 91. That is all I know about him.
Can anyone help?  8)

Monaghan / Hendersons and Deacons
« on: Friday 22 April 05 19:51 BST (UK)  »
8)I'm trying to find out about my ancestry from Ballybay, Monaghan. My last known ancestor from there was my great grandmother Ethel Henderson(maiden name, her married name was Baxter). There is quite a bit of mystery surrounding her because she was either illegitimate(soz if spelt wrong) or her mother remarried. I know she was definitely Henderson because I have seen my grandfather's birth certificate, but she had half brothers and sisters called Deacon. Her half brother was known as Bobby Deacon. Her mother may have been called Margaret, however this may be wrong. As for dates- nothing is certain. If she married my great grandfather (Kyle Baxter) then she may have been born around the 1890's.
Please help!

Wigtownshire / Baxter Family
« on: Sunday 17 April 05 20:34 BST (UK)  »
I am trying to trace my family from Scotland- I know from talking to relatives and old letters that my great great grandfather Robert Baxter came from Dumfries and later moved to Co. Tyrone in Northern Ireland.
He married Jane (Henderson?) and had four children- Kyle, Robert, Maria and Mary. He may have been born in the mid to late 19th century.
I also have letters from 'Lizzie and Fergus' who lived in Fallin, Stirling and Kirkcudbrightshire. They may be related- I don't know.
Robert Baxter was, I believe, a coachman for a wealthy family in the area and may have links to Killentrae farm. I would love more information on this branch of the family- can anybody please help? :D
