United States of America / Looking for my wife's Family in America
« on: Monday 10 March 14 15:20 GMT (UK)  »
I have found a few bits of information about my wife's tree going from the Isle Of MULL to America.
On the Steam ship 'VICTORIA' New York Passenger List travelling from GLASGOW on the 04 Dec 1875 were two families 1.ALEXANDER KING and CATHERINE KING. 2.JOHN JEFFREY and MARY JEFFREY, JANET DUNN. Some more information came that in1880 JOHN JEFFREY and his Wife MARY McDonald were on a census in SOMERSET TOWNSHIP, COUNTY JACKSON, Illinois. I next find that JOHN JEFFREY and MARY McDonald in abt 1920 were in CARTERVILLE, WILLIAMSON, Illinois.
Could you possibly tell me the best place to start looking for more information Please. Thank you.

I am looking for any information about the BANNER Family. My wife's father named Joseph Elija Banner. I know he had brothers/sisters and the family lived in MOUNT STREET in 1921 which is when my father in law was born. Unfortunately he never told his children any family history at all. They know he came from Birmingham, got married then told the family nothing. Can anyone help us get started please.

Thank you.

US Lookup Requests / Trying to Create Fam Tree for My Wife
« on: Tuesday 10 July 12 12:46 BST (UK)  »
I am trying to create a tree for my wife. Her mother comes from Scotland and father from England.
This makes for a difficult job. I have found from research that at least 3 members of the JEFFREY family left GLASGOW on the SS VICTORIA on the 4th DEC 1875 on route to NEW YORK. With them went a family named KING. The last information that I could find was in the 1880 census in SOMERSET TOWNSHIP, COUNTY JACKSON. ILLINOIS.

Are there any Genealogy friends out there that may be able to help? I have tried the next census after 1880 but as some differences occur in the layout of information it is very difficult to work around
the correct and nearly correct. It would be very nice to know what journeys these families had.
Thanks to anyone who are able to help.
