Gloucestershire / Mary Ann Huggins b1822 St Michaels Bristol
« on: Monday 25 July 11 00:13 BST (UK)  »
Hello,

I wonder if anyone can help me to find the Huggins family before 1843, what I have at present is a marriage in 1843 the certificate shows.

Daniel        Collins         bachelor      tailor         father,      Dennis Collins         tailor
Mary Ann    Huggins      spinster                       father       Abraham Huggins    laborer

The 1851 census shows,

Daniel        Collins     married     m  34  1817       journeyman tailor       Cork  Ireland
Mary Ann   Collins     married      f    29  1822      laundress                   St Michaels Bristol

I have not as yet been able to find Mary Ann or Abraham on any other census, or in fact their births. I believe that I may have found reference to a death for Mary Ann in the late 1850s but have not got the certificate yet.

The address shown for them on the census is 1 Walker Street, Westbury Upon Trym, Bristol. can anyone tell me what that area would have been like at that time.

Many thanks,

Benvic.

Cork / Daniel Collins b1817 Cork
« on: Sunday 24 July 11 23:31 BST (UK)  »
Hello,

I wonder if anyone can help me to find this Collins family in Cork sometime before 1840. What I have at present is a marriage that took place in Bristol England in 1843, the certificate shows,

Daniel Collins        full        bachelor     tailor       father,  Dennis Collins     tailor
Mary Ann Huggins full        spinster                    father,   Abraham Huggins     laborer

The 1851 census shows

Daniel   Collins    head  married   m 34  1817   journeyman tailor     Cork  Ireland
Mary Ann Collins  wife   married   f  29   1822   laundress                Bristol

I have not been able to find them in any other census so far but think I may have  death records for both (no certificates as yet) in late 1850s and early 1860s.

I would be very grateful for any sightings or information on Dennis and family in Cork and Daniel before he went to England.

Many thanks

Benvic.

Buckinghamshire Completed Look ups / Registers of electors lookup completed
« on: Tuesday 31 May 11 15:08 BST (UK)  »
I have an address in Burnham and would like to know the names of the adults who lived there from 1960 to 1971, if anyone is going into County Hall, Walton Street, Aylesbury, where I understand the registers to be kept I would be extremely grateful if they would do a quick lookup for me.

Because it's not that long ago and because members of the same family may still live there, rather than cause any possible embarrassment by publishing the details here could I please pass them by PM to any one able to help.

Many thanks in advance,

Regards,

Benvic.

Buckinghamshire / finding relatives in Eton Bucks
« on: Wednesday 18 May 11 21:37 BST (UK)  »
Hello,

I would like to find details of relatives who I believe lived in Eton between 1945 and 1985, assuming that they lived at the same address all of that time, would I have to search page by page of the first voters list to start with or is there any sort of surname index. Also where would the voters lists for Eton for those years be kept.

Thanks,
Benvic.

« on: Sunday 08 May 11 00:08 BST (UK)  »
Hello,

Could anyone please tell me how that I might find, without traveling to the county records office to view the voters list, the names of people living at an address in Ramsgate in the 1950s, I haven't quoted the address here just in case members of the same family still live there.

Hello
I believe that there was an American airforce base somewhere near northolt middlesex during the 1940s, was this on land now covered by London airport or on land now built upon, I wonder what villages or towns were nearest to it when it existed, any help would be appreciated.
