Dumfriesshire / Andrew Percie...Dead End!
« on: Tuesday 28 March 06 21:46 BST (UK)  »
Hi folks,

Desperately need help with this one.

I have manged to successfully trace back to Andrew Percie however all the dates I have is from his headstone.

Andrew Percie Mouswald Village. Who died the 3rd November 1829 aged 26 years.

I know he was married to Mary Creighton of Mouswald and had at least 4 children.
Ruth Dickson Percie B.1821
George Percie B. 1824
John Percie B.1827
Jane Irving Percie B. 1828

I have been unable to find any record of his marriage to Mary or any record of his birth.

I also suspect his parents to be George Percie and Jane Irving which is based solely in the hope that in naming tradition the eldest son and second daughter are named after the fathers parents. As in this case the second son and first daughter were named after the Mothers parents.
Having said this I can find no record of George or Jane.

Any help would be greatly appreciated with birth, marriage of Andrew or his parents

Many thanks

Hi Folks

I wonder if anyone would know which graveyard John Percy might have been buried. He died in Cowane St in 1901, and may be beside his grandson Robert Farish who died in 1895, if so how would I find where he was laid to rest.

Midlothian / 1891 Census - John Noon Edinburgh
« on: Monday 13 February 06 19:54 GMT (UK)  »
Hi Looking for some help with the 1891 census.

John Noon age 2, district St. George Edinburgh.

He should live with his parents John and Mary Noon.
I've tried Scotlands People but the image is unavailable and it costs £10.
I don't even know if he's the right one.

Any info on the family would be much appreciated or info where I could look up the census.

Cheers
