Hertfordshire / Newspaper report of an inquest 1926 - Shklovsky
« on: Thursday 07 June 18 20:08 BST (UK)  »
Hi,

I have grown up with a story from my Dad's side of the family about one brother watching another brother burn to death, possibly after being left alone in a flat, possibly in Paris. All was very vague and I had no idea who these brothers were or how we were related.
Now, 4 years after my Father's death, I happened upon information about his Aunt (the black sheep) pointing me to look in London for her. It had been suggested that she had married a Russian and I was able to find the records of the marriage and the births of 3 children, Brian, Peter and Pauline. Also the record of death of Peter aged 3 in Hatfield district.

I have now received the death certificate and it shows that he died in Welwyn Garden City on 30th June 1926 and an inquest was held the following day.

The cause of death was shock to the system from burns which seems to support the dying in a fire story although not Paris and looking at photos of the road it looks like it was a house not a flat.

I am aware that the inquest record has probably been destroyed and have tried searching for a newspaper report with no success.

If anyone can help me with this or has any information about the Shklovsky family I would love to hear from you.

(I did post some of this originally in Herefordshire by mistake).

I have just received a death certificate for my Dad's cousin who died in Hatfield in 1926 aged 3 years. It says there was an inquest and wondered how I can obtain a record of this.

Trying to trace my Gt Gt Grandmother Emma Kingerley, born around 1837 in Wisbech St. Mary, Cambs. She appears on the 1841 census as Emila and for some of her life appears to have been called Emily. By 1851 she seems to have disappeared although the rest of the family are there. In 1868 she marries Henry Barfoot from Market Overton, Rutland. I would love to find out where she was between 1841 and 1868 and have posted similar messages on both Lincolnshire and Rutland pages, with no success so far. Obviously she could be anywhere wich is why I am posting this.

Any help, suggestions would be much appreciated.
Thanks, Alyson.

This is a long shot but I am trying to track down Emma Kingerley. She was born in Wisbech St. Mary, Cambs around 1837 and is recorded there on 1841 census as Emila. However she has disappeared by the 1851 census, although the rest of her family are there. In 1868 Emma marries Henry Barfoot of the Black Bull, Market Overton and I am trying to find out what happened to her between 1841 and 1868. I was thinking that she may have moved to Rutland as a teenager for work.

Any information would be much appreciated.
Thanks.
Alyson.

Trying to trace my Gt. Gt. Grandmother Emma Kingerley. Born in Wisbech St. Mary around 1837. She appears on the 1841 census as Emila but then seems to disappear. She marries in 1868 and moves to live in Market Overton, Rutland, where she was also known as Emily. I'm curious to know where she was between 1841 and 1868 and wondered if she was staying/working in Lincolnshire as Wisbech St. MAry is quite close to Lincolnshire. I would be grateful if anyone could track her down for me and solve the mystery.
Thanks Alyson
