Based on a 1879 Scottish death certificate of son John H Ferguson, his parents were William and Letitia (MS also Ferguson) of Newtown Limavady, Derry Ireland.

Another son Andrew was married to Janet Laughrey (Lochrie, McLaughry, Laurie, etc) in Bovevagh Presbyterian near Limavady, Londonderry County about 1827. Andrew and John died in Scotland but the other siblings (Samuel, Malcolm, Margaret, and maybe Joseph & Robert) supposedly stayed in Ireland.

I have found these names for several generations on a farm called Killyblight (also spelled Killyblought, Killybleught, etc.) which is about 2 miles from the existing Bovevagh Presby. church and about a mile from the ancient Bovevagh church ruins overlooking the Roe River.

Any other Killyblight Fergusons out there?

Wigtownshire / MILROY in Fraser's booklet
« on: Wednesday 25 July 12 20:48 BST (UK)  »
A John MILROY was mentioned in Gordon Fraser's booklet about the Wigtown and Newton Stewart area. Also it has ads of merchants. Looked like Milroy was hanged for being on the wrong side of a church split.

Australia / Assisted Passage on Largo Bay 1878 (FLEMING)
« on: Tuesday 30 August 11 19:18 BST (UK)  »
My John and Letitia FLEMING (FERGUSON) with their grown children arrived in South Australia on the Largo Bay September, 1878. Recently I found them on a government site in an official list of passengers. When I went back to the URL the passenger list was no longer there. Does anyone have a link that could get to the information?

Wigtownshire / Marriage in Inch, Wigtownshire FERGUSON/MILLAR
« on: Monday 13 June 11 17:10 BST (UK)  »
I have a 1821 marriage in Inch, Wigton between John Ferguson b. Ireland and Shusannah Millar. I have found her birth with parents names but can't find John's parents. Would a fuller account of the marriage in Inch be accessible anywhere? Hoping to see names of his parents.
Any suggestions?

Wigtownshire / FERGUSON in Wigtownshire
« on: Sunday 29 May 11 02:48 BST (UK)  »
My John and Susanna Millar Ferguson had 5 sons who emigrated to America (New Jersey, then Indiana, Illinois, Kansas) George Washington, William, Thomas Millar, John Hill, James W. Ferguson all lived in Illinois at one time. Two served in the Civil War.

The parents and at least 4 siblings stayed in Wigtonshire. Letitia m. John Flemming and had at least 7 children there. Mary Ann may have married John Nelson. Don't know what happened to Joseph b. abt 1835. Andrew was a single grocer in Newton-Stewart and died there in 1887.

The father John b. Ireland was a crofter and died bet. 1871-1873. Mother Susannah (Shusan in the census) b. 1798 in Barr, Ayrshire, died 1873 in Newton-Stewart. Three other children did not survive (not in census).
FERGUSON, MILLER (MILLAR), FLEMMING, NELSON
