Both the brothers above went to Canada in the 1890's I believe, however I have not found the records of their passage. I did find census records but very vague for Richard in Saskatchewan, not sure if it is correct. I then traced a census for a Richard R Russell in Toronto, this could be him if anyone can look this up and find more details than those published it would be terrific. Harry James returned to England again no trace on passenger lists that I can find.

Honora was found in a convent school in 1871 but cannot trace in 1881 or 1891, she never marries so this is a mystery, regards Peter

Her female siblings were in a convent school, but could not trace Mary Jane, she was married in 1880 so got her after this, any thoughts please, regards Peter

Electoral records and a passenger list to New York has given me the above plus I found a record of her in 1911 at 18 New Street Westminster, but only the actual census record. Prior to this she was at 34 Upper Gloucester Place London. Nothing for 1871 - 1891, although her female siblings were found in a convent school in Worthing she does not appear to have attended. On the census all the properties in New Street Westminster appear to be occupied by ladies, does this mean what I am thinking? In 1925 she was at Castle Ryan Twickenham.

Charlotte died in Monte Carlo in 1924, so she could have been in France in these years, any ideas how I can confirm this, she was a hairdresser in Folkestone Kent in 1881, regards Peter

1861 Edward Hoey mariner in Rottingdean Sussex aged 36 wife Martha aged 36 dau Martha aged 11 Mary Jane aged 6 Edw Chas aged 6 John Daniel aged 2, and Honora Catherine aged 5 months, in 1871 only John Daniel at home with Edward (coastguard) and Martha found Edward Charles a hairdresser as a lodger at 14?.

Nothing for Honora Catherine, I know she survived as I found her later but no trace for 1871. Nothing for Mary Jane (born abt 1855), Martha (born abt 1850) died I think in 1877 but nothing for 1871. So 3 girls missing in 1871?

Any ideas please, Peter.

Looking for the above Eliza Ann was born in 1840 in Deptford Kent to Robert George Russell and Eliza nee Stone. Elizabeth (Ann or Mary?) was born in about 1848/49 in Deptford, no trace found of baptism. Have followed a number of leads that have been a wild goose chase, and I think I will most likely solve these if someone has them in their tree as documentary evidence seems to be lacking.

Regards Peter

Hi, above named appears in 1871 census in Deptford, then in 1881 census is shown as William J Wyatt, mother Sarah now married to Thomas John Wyatt.

Does anyone know what happened to William please, cheers Peter

Hi, I am looking for anyone with information about the above, when Sarah married Thomas in 1873 she used the surname Sutton and called herself a spinster. She then named her father as Robert Sutton, should have been Russell a treenail maker, that was his correct trade. Her sister Eliza Ann was living with Francis Sutton with 2 children in 1881, but no trace of an M/C?

Any thoughts would be appreciated, cheers Peter
