Louth / Halligan and Hudson, Carlingford.

Hi All,

I have at last tracked down my great great Grandparents, John HALLIGAN and Elizabeth HUDSON of Carlingford, Louth, Ireland. I obtained a copy of the marriage certificate of their daughter, (my great grandmother) Elizabeth Hutcheson HALLIGAN. She married William Stewart LOVE in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia in January 1878.

John's occupation is given as a Sailor on the marriage certificate.

Can someone please help me with any information on the birth details and marriage details of John and Elizabeth?

Hi All,

I have at last obtained a copy of my great grandparents William Stewart LOVE and Elizabeth Hutcheson HALLIGAN's certificate of marriage in Queensland, Australia in January 1878.

William's father is recorded as John LOVE and his mother as Rebecca Burmas of Antrim, Ireland. John's trade is recorded as a Blacksmith on the marriage certificate.

Can someone please help me with any further details.

Cork / Finding William Love.

Hi All,

I am trying to find my ancestors on my mother's side. My great grandfather William Stewart Love whom I believe was born in Australia, around 1856. I have found a William Love, aged 32 and His wife Eliza, aged 34 and their 2 children, John Love aged 14 and William Love aged 4, arrived on board the "James Pattison" from Bandon, Cork, Ireland in 1838.

This could be the connection to William Stewart Love's family, but without more information I am not sure. Can someone please help me?

Hi All,

Can someone please help me find my great grandmother,
Elizabeth Halligan. She was born around 1856 and with a name of Halligan it has been suggested that she may have come from Ireland.

She married William Stewart Love, [place unknown as yet] around 1879-1880 and their first child William John Love was born 17 Jan 1881. I have searched the South Australian B,D,M records to find this information on their child, but no information about where Elizabeth came from or where they were married.

Any information to help me in my search would be greatly appreciated.

Hi all,

I am trying to find my great grandfather, William Stewart Love and it has been suggested that he originally came from Scotland.

He married Elizabeth Halligan [Hallighan] in South Australia about 1879-1880. Their first child, William John Love was born on 17 Jan 1881.

William Stewart was born in 1856 [place unknown as yet] and died in 1891 in South Australia. I have searched for him on the South Aust. Census disks 1842 - 1906 and other Australian sites without success so far.

I would appreciate any information that would help me find him.

Hi there.

Can someone please help me? I am looking for information on the parents and birth dates for Ann [Anne] Ballard.
She was born about 1805 in Heybridge Maldon, Essex. She married Thomas Stock, born 1806, possibly in Chadwell St. Mary, Essex or in St. Catherine's Church in East Tilbury, Essex.

Can someone help me find the parents and birth dates of Thomas' parents please, as I have come to a "Brick wall" in my search.

Lancashire Lookup Requests / Edward Hill Lathom

Can someone please assist me to find information on Charles Edward Hill born about 1871 in Lathom. Lancashire England.
I have found him in the 1901 England Census in the Civil parish of Blackburn married to Annie Hill. They lived in Warrington, Lancaster according to family oral history.

So far we haven't been able to establish his birth date, birth place or his parents. Any information would be really appreciated.

Essex Lookup Requests / Finding Thomas Stock from Stock.

I am trying to find any information about my ancestor THOMAS STOCK. So far I have found that he was born in 1806 and that his family lived in a town called STOCK, Essex, which is straight along the road north from East Tilbury, Essex.

Thomas married Ann [maiden name unknown]. Their first and third sons were baptised at Chadwell St. Mary, Essex and their last four children at St. Catherine's in East Tilbury. Essex.

I would appreciate any help in finding out his parents and grand parents. Ann's maiden name, date and place of birth and her parents names.

Hampshire & IOW Lookup Requests / Where is Sophia?

My wife's grandfather, LOUIS FRANK ROBSON as a 3 year old was listed in the 1881 Census as living with William and Sophia Sharman at 6 Braybrooke Terrace, Aldershot. Hampshire. His mother Eliza Robson is not mentioned.

We do not know why LOUIS FRANK [aka Frank Louis] Robson was living with the Sharmans and not with his mother. It has been suggested that SOPHIA SHARMAN may have been related to ELIZA.

The 1881 Census lists Sophia as having been born in 1834 in Chilbolton, Hampshire. I have tried to find Sophia's maiden name, birth date, birth place and her parents names without success so far.

Can someone please help to find Sophia and her details for us?
