« on: Wednesday 02 November 16 09:37 GMT (UK)  »
Can anyone decipher the top two names on this image for a friend in Australia. I get that the first begins with D but the second looks like Jagoe or Sagoe to me and I know they are both wrong.

Thank you for looking  :)

Family Bibles / Completed !! The Davies of Loughborough Bible reunited
« on: Thursday 14 February 13 13:06 GMT (UK)  »
I'm finally admitting defeat :-\

I bought this bible in a second hand bookshop in Coventry.  I have been trying to locate descendants of the original family but they appear to have all died out or possibly emigrated. I would appreciate any help in locating any direct or indirect descendant so that I may return it to the family if at all possible.

What I know of the family is here: http://loughborodavies.tribalpages.com

South Africa / Charles Edmund Bright b.1881
« on: Friday 12 November 10 07:06 GMT (UK)  »
I have just discovered that CE Bright emmigrated to SA about 1900 with his parents and family. He joined the Army and I presume fought in teh Boer War.

His father was Isaac Bright, mother Elizabeth Newill and siblings George, Elizabeth, William and Sarah Ann.

Any help researching this line would be gratefully recieved

Family Bibles / DAVIES/DAVIS Loughborough, Leicestershire Bible
« on: Thursday 28 October 10 08:47 BST (UK)  »
I have a Bible in which the family's names are originally entered as DAVIES. However in my attempts to pass this on to living descendants I have discovered that some of the original children (all entered in the front of the Bible) dropped the 'E' and became DAVIS.

John Davies and Elizabeth married in 1861 and produced six children:
Elizabeth
Emma
William
John
Ernest
Sarah

This Bible is large: 13"h x 11"w x 4"deep. It has gold edged pages with brass edged cover and hinged clasps.

Other names I have encountered with this family:
START
BECK
BOWN
HARDING
HEYES

If you believe it may be from your ancestors then please contact me.

Family Bibles / Low, Miss 1916
« on: Wednesday 18 June 08 18:57 BST (UK)  »
Holy Communion by W.Walsham How, D.D.

It was presented to a Miss Low on 27th August 1916. This beautiful little book has been well kept and still retains the gold edging around the pages as though new.
