Flintshire / What happened to Eleanor Bellis b.about 1810
« on: Friday 23 January 15 14:33 GMT (UK)  »
Eleanor Bellis(nee Davies) married Zechariah Bellis in Mold in 1832. She is in all census records from 1841 to 1851. Her husband died in 1859. I was told that parts of the 1861 census for Mold are missing. Can anyone help me find her for that year or what may have happened to her subsequentlyl please?

Flintshire Lookup Requests / 1871 census for Flintshire Wales
« on: Friday 20 June 14 15:16 BST (UK)  »
:)Failed to find my great grandparents on the 1871 census on Findmypast. Were there any records lost or missing for some parts of Flintshire? In 1881 they were living in Arddynwent which corresponds with the present day area of Nerquis near Mold. Any help would be appreciated.

World War Two / Relatives of airman killed in WW2
« on: Monday 24 March 14 16:53 GMT (UK)  »
I am trying to find any relatives of Flight Sergeant Tegwyn Roberts who was killed when the Lancaster he was in was shot down over Holland in 1944. Before going any further I would be grateful for any guidance on which is the best part of rootschat  to use and whether I need to consider such things as confidentiality

Denbighshire / Tracing bankruptcy details
« on: Sunday 30 December 12 11:28 GMT (UK)  »
:)In 1932 my grandfather's shop went on fire. This occurred, according to the Denbighshire Free Press article, when it was occupied by an auctioneer and valuer acting on behalf of the "trustees" This I take it to mean that the business had gone bankrupt. No mention of this event was ever made in the family. How is the best way to find details of the bankruptcy. I know that the London Gazette is a source but where does one start. Where would the case be heard for a business based in North Wales?
Further to the fire- would an inquiry be held as to the cause of the fire?  According to the article above mentioned, it was a devastating one.

Family History Programs, Tree Organisation, Presentation / FH software
« on: Friday 02 December 11 14:17 GMT (UK)  »
Thanks to Millymob and Berlin Bob, I'm now logged in via this laptop.
I did a college course on Family History back in 2006. The software we used to record our research was on Personal Ancestry File which is sponsored by the Mormon Church. Because my PC is so slow I tried to transfer my file to this laptop - but it will not recognise the .paf file. Is there a way round this or should I consider transferring to another FH software?
If so which do you recemmend and how do I do it?
 ;)
