Kent Completed Lookup Requests / Goff Burials Old Folkestone
« on: Wednesday 09 December 15 14:23 GMT (UK)  »
Hi and thanks for taking the time to read this.

I am looking for two burials, one I know is definitely in Folkestone Old Cemetery and the other I think might be in the same cemetery but don't know for sure.

The definite is one Robert William Goff, died WWI, 13th December 1916.  Details available on CWGC.  The second is his mother Susan Goff, died 5th February 1921.  I have the death cert which shows the death was registered in Elham, Folkestone, Kent which is why I think she may have been buried close to her son.  The family were from Ireland originally.

If anyone could confirm where Susan is buried would be great and if anyone could provide photos of the graves, well that would be fantastic.  Any help is much appreciated.

Thank you and happy Christmas.

I would really appreciate it if anyone could confirm who was living at the address above in 1927 and any time after.  I believe it was a family by the name of Jones or Quinn but need confirmation.

Many thanks

Cheshire / Need Help Finding Allen/Doyle Marriage
« on: Friday 30 August 13 22:07 BST (UK)  »
Hi

Can anyone help me find a marriage record from c1901 for a James Allen and Mary Doyle in Birkenhead, Cheshire.  Possibly in the RC Church of St Josephs, Seacomb, as this is where the burial of their daughter, Letitia, is recorded in 1904. She was born in 1903.  On the 1911 census they state they are married 10 years which is where the 1901 year of marriage comes in.

I've tried all the usual places to search but cannot find it.

Many thanks.

Dublin / Dublin & Mersey Steamship Company
« on: Sunday 16 June 13 17:17 BST (UK)  »
Hi everyone

Has anyone ever heard of the Dublin & Mersey Steamship Company?  I can't find anything on it.  It's the name of a company that appears in the background of an old photo I've come across and I'm trying to find out about them.  It could be as far back as 1880.

Cheers.

Lancashire / Thomas Ashmore lived in Liverpool in the 50's
« on: Saturday 11 May 13 20:25 BST (UK)  »
Hi

I am trying to find out how I might find details of what someone was doing or where they were living in the 1950's.  My Uncle, Thomas Ashmore, now deceased has a bit of a gap in his life story.  Born in Dublin, he moved to England in the 50's and is believed to have been living and working in Liverpool until he moved to Birmingham, where he got married.  There may be a connection to the army or the reserve forces.

Any ideas or suggestions gratefully appreciated.
