« on: Saturday 20 May 06 12:51 BST (UK)  »
Hi All

Can anyone help with a general regsitration office index number for Agnes Frances Bailey. IGI indicates birthdate of 1/9/1855 with christening 27/9/1855 at St Pancras Old Church.  I have a death registration index for her but would like to find the birth certificate.

Also any advice for finding details of births before 1837.  I know a date but I'd lke to find more - William Edward Bailey christened 16 August 1822 Chatham Kent.  Parents were William and Elizabeth.

hopefully

« on: Friday 20 May 05 10:04 BST (UK)  »
Hi all

Any information on Martha Gallienne (who married Robert Brown) and had Annie (1874) emily (1877) Emma (1878) and Robert (1880) john (about 1884) before coming to Sydney some time before 1899  would be gratefully received.  Anyone who wants more on this family after they arrived in Sydney, I can help, a bit.

I already have 1881 census with Martha Robert and the 4 children thanks to Nicky.

Channel Islands Lookup Requests / Guernsey any info Brown/Pharo
« on: Saturday 14 May 05 10:25 BST (UK)  »
Hi All

My first island connection.  Any information on Edward Pharo and his bride Annie Brown.  They married in Sydney in 1899 but apparently came from Guernsey.  I guess they were probably born 1870's or early 80's.  Sorry but that's all I have - newly discovered elderly relative  - these were her grandparents.

Any help gratefully received.

Australia Lookups completed / puzzled by the "STATE" of things
« on: Monday 09 May 05 13:54 BST (UK)  »
hi all

I am just making an observation here - in no way trying to compare our great nations - so don't all get your knickers in a knot, but why does a country the size of the UK have such a wealth of boards with specific interest groups for each county, while all of Australia's emigrants (the ones we call immigrants) are in the one board?  People in Sydney will know very little about researching family in WA and vice versa, so why are the topics all mixed in together?  I realise we have less history to study but we're so spread out too.

Maybeit would help if we start posts by stating the state of interest: NSW, VIC, TAS, SA, WA, NT, QLD, and ACT (Australian Capital Territory ie Canberra)

Warwickshire Lookup Requests / 1851 census Birmingham HORTON
« on: Sunday 08 May 05 15:00 BST (UK)  »
I am trying to find William John Horton - born in or around 1848 to Father William and mother unknown.  William John's death certifcate (adelaide south australia) indicates he was born in Birmingham (and simple maths suggested the year).

I don't know a lot more than that but thought an 1851 census (age under 6) check might reveal the size of the haystack I need to look in.

hope someone can help.

Anyone interested in Horton births in south australia - I can help 1842-1906.
