Sussex / George Clifton
« on: Monday 19 September 22 04:23 BST (UK)  »
Hello everyone, I have recently found out that my 3rd greatgrandfather died on 2nd January 1850 in a Union Workhouse in Ore. His wife Harriett was present at his death. I am trying to find the admissions to this workhouse and where he may have been buried. This is a distance from where the family originate in Tonbridge. George Clifton was a bricklayer and so I am assuming he may have been working on the tunnells or railway there. Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanking you

Sussex / Clapson Family
« on: Saturday 25 May 19 08:56 BST (UK)  »
Hi, I am looking for birth details for a Richard Clapson. He married Mary Parks 1747/1748 in Warbleton. He may have been born around 1725. I have found one who was born to a Thomas Clapson but he died in 1732. There are family trees with Richard having parents Benjamin Clapson and Mary Gascain but I cannot find a birth.

Kent / Elsie Fielder
« on: Saturday 03 August 13 05:32 BST (UK)  »
Hi
I have been researching my ancestors the Fielders from Tunbridge Wells. My Nana corresponded with an Elsie Fielder from Kent, but unfortunately I cannot find where Elsie fits in the family.
My line is from George Fielder who came to Australia and Elsie's father was Ernest. I have exhausted all records but cannot find the connection. Elsie was born in 1897 in Sevenoaks and I believe passed away July 1990. Any help would be very much appreciated.

Australia / Robert Kaye or Kae
« on: Thursday 16 August 12 11:32 BST (UK)  »
Hi, I posted a query in January about a Robert Kaye, and all of you good people tried to help me out. Since then a woman has contacted a relation and believes his name was Robert Turnbull Kae and he returned to NZ. I have found a birth in New Zealand for this person born 1867. If this is the Robert I have been looking for he has put his age up to marry Mary. I would like your help again please, I cannot find any Robert Turnbull Kae either coming to Australia 1885/86 or going back to NZ 1886 onwards.

Wiltshire / Charles Beak
« on: Thursday 05 July 12 10:55 BST (UK)  »
I am trying to help my Aunty solve a mystery in her family tree. Her grandfather was Charles Beak born in Great Somerford in 1864. We believe he married Evelyn Constance MacGregor and they had a son. We think they married in London.  When Charles sailed to Australia he had a mishap and was presumed dead. His wife took her life and her sons by jumping off a bridge. This occurred approx between 1881 and 1885. I cannot find a marriage or a death for her or her son. Could someone please help. When Charles got word back to England that he was  alive he was told of the tragic event that had occured so he stayed in Australia and built a new life. We don't know what ship or year he landed in South Australia to narrow the year of his marriage and subsequent events.

Thanking you

Hi All
I am a descendent of Uriah Bond 1674 - 1738 Cirenster, he married Anne Verinder 1677 - 1737. Would anyone have any info on the Verinder family please. Also on some Ancestory trees there is a photo attached called the Shambles but no one seems to know the significance of this to the Bond family.
Thanking you

Oxfordshire / Smith Family

Hi All
I  am trying to find out more information on my gggrandparents, Jethro Smith and Hester Bond, They married in 1828 in Standlake. In 1851 he was a farmer of 12 acres. Jethro died in 1854 and I believe Hester remained on the land. I have no leads whatsoever on Jethro's family, of course with a name like Smith how hard could it be. (Tongue in cheek)

Australia / homestead cemeteries
« on: Thursday 26 January 12 21:17 GMT (UK)  »
Hi All

Have just been reading on your board about Homestead cemeteries. Is it possible to search a site with a name and possible year of death instead of name of places.

Cheers
