Leicestershire Lookup Requests / Henry Leeson of Packington

Hi,

I have been unable to find a baptism for Henry Leeson of Packington born about 1815.  He married Mary Marvin at St Margaret in 1836.  He is s brick maker.  He died in 1881.

(He is not the Henry Leeson born in Hinkley).

The Leicestershire Archives are currently closed so I was wondering if anyone had access to Bastardy Bonds to see if Henry appears in either Packington (or maybe St Margaret).   Or access to Poor Records of Packington to see if there is any mention of Henry listed as a child on his parents record. (Difficulty is I don't know the parents as I have been unable to find a baptism). 

If anyone is able to assist it would be appreciated.

Hi, 

A Thomas Baynham and Joan had several children in Brampton Abbotts in the late 1660's and 1670's.  I'm wondering if someone may be able to check to see if there is a marriage record for Thomas and Joan and if so, can they advise what it says ie: Joan's surname, any ages or abode's. 

(Note: I did see one person has a marriage date of 22 Dec 1666 on their family tree, however I have not been able to find anything to verify this to date).

Hi,

Does anyone have access to the actual baptism records for Ross-On-Wye for 1779?

From index records I can see a James Baynham baptised on the 17 April 1779, mother Elizabeth Baynham.  I'm wondering if there is any extra information on the baptism record that hasn't been transcribed to the index record?

Essex Lookup Requests / William Davies born about 1791

Hi,

Wondering if someone could be kind enough to look up a baptism for William Davies born about 1791 in Dagenham.

The 1851 Census appears to say he was from Dagham or Dayham, Essex.   The closest place I can find that this might be is Dagenham.   (If someone thinks there's a possible alternative then please advise.)

Angus (Forfarshire) / George Coupar (Cowper/Couper/Cooper) about 1803 - where was he born?

Hi,
George Coupar (or alternative spellings) married Margaret Doig (Doeg) on 30 April 1825 at Coupar Angus.  The marriage record has no parent names on it.  The 1841 Census indicates he was 39 and born in the parish (Angus), so born about 1802.  One of his female children had a middle name of Maxwell which may be a parent or grandparents surname as this family often used surnames as middle names.

So far I haven't been able to establish his parents. If anyone has any ideas or thoughts, it would be appreciated.

Hertfordshire / What happened to Sarah Crawley who married John Element in 1800 at Watford?

Hi,

My research is the Ellement family (several variations to the spelling).

I have a John Ellement who married Ann King in Buckinghamshire in 1820, prior to that I can prove he had married Elizabeth Timberlake in Sarrat, Hertfordshire in 1809.  She died in childbirth.

I suspect this may be the same John Ellement who first married Sarah Crawley on 17 Aug 1800 in Watford (St Mary), Hertfordshire.  (I suspect this as I think this is where John is from, however, this marriage would hlep prove or disprove this theory).   However, I would have expected to find a burial for Sarah between 1800 when they married and 1809 and he married Elizabeth.  I can't find anything.

If it was a different John Ellement who married Sarah then I would have expected to find children for that couple but I can't find that either.

The marriage record for John and Sarah does not give parents names, it simply has the date, their names and the word banns.    The marriage record for John and Elizabeth does not state if he was a bachelor or a widower.

So what happened to Sarah Element (nee Crawley) ?   If anyone has any clues, I'd love to hear from them.

Devon Lookup Requests / Geroge Harvey - born about 1830 Plymouth

Hi,

I am trying to locate a baptismal record for George Harvey.  His death certificate states he was from Plymouth and parents were James Harvey and Hannah Short.  Based on age on the death cert, it would indicate he was born about 1830.

There is a marriage record for his parent James Harvey and Hannah Short at East Stonehouse on 2 8 Oct 1823. However, haven't been able to find baptismal record for their son George or any other children.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hampshire & IOW Lookup Requests / William Pearce born about 1740

I've been told that William Pearce born about 1740 married Mary.

They had a child John Pearce about 1761 in South Stoneham Hampshire (believed to have married Sarah Gange on 20 Oct 1794 at Lyndhurst, Hampshire).  They had a son Charles Pearce baptised 21 Nov 1803 at Bishopstoke, Hampshire.

Trying to find more information about William Pearce and Mary ie: parents names or baptism dates and where.
