Caernarvonshire / Annie Grace Ellis died 1971. From Holyhead to Liverpool to Caernarfon
« on: Tuesday 20 February 18 15:12 GMT (UK)  »
Annie Grace Jones was born in Holyhead on 28 Feb 1898. In the March Qtr of 1923 her marriage to John William Ellis was registered in West Derby, Liverpool. According to the 1939 Register they were living at 12 Balkan Street, Dingle, Liverpool 8. Her dob was recorded as 16 Feb 1898, his as 15 October 1891 and he was a Railway Capstanman. They were still living there in 1950 as Annie and the address were recorded by her John Jones on a Crew Agreement when he was Bosun on the Tomocyclus.
It is thought they still lived there at the end of 1954, beginning of 1955 when John Jones was Bosun on the Lembulus.
At some point they moved to Caernarfon as the death of Annie Grace Ellis, dob 28 Feb 1898, is recorded in Caernarfon in the December Qtr of 1971 and that of John William Ellis (dob 17 October 1891) was recorded in the September Qtr of 1976.
Has anybody come across this pair or the brother, John Jones? Anybody any idea where they lived  and when or where they died or were buried? An address might enable me to consult electoral registers if they exist.
Any help will be much appreciated.

They were still at the same address in 1950 as Annie and her address was given by her brother John Jones, who was in the Merchant Navy, in a Crew Agreement whilst he was bosun on the Tomocyclus. He was still at sea, on the Lembulus, in late 1954 and early 1955 so it is believed he still lived at 12 Balkan Street.
I think these houses have now been demolished, anybody any idea when? Do Electoral Rolls exist for the area and where would they be?
It's thought that Annie Grace Ellis and her husband John William Ellis moved to Caernarfon and died there in the 1970's. Any help on tracing them or John Jones would be much appreciated.

Thank you.

Merionethshire / Minffordd Cemetery, Penrhyndeudraeth

One of my great uncles, the Reverend John Richard Jones was a Congregationalist Minister in Porthmadog. He died at 5 Roche Terrace in the town on the 30 November 1943 and is buried in Minffordd Cemetery.
I would be very much obliged if anyone who has access to the GFHS publication M352 Llanfihangel y Traethau, Minffordd (Part 2), Penrhyndeudraeth, could let me have details of the transcription of his gravestone.

Diolch.
