Warwickshire / Baptism circa 1829-1831, Stratford upon Avon
« on: Tuesday 07 December 21 19:22 GMT (UK)  »
:) Can anyone help please. My 3 x great grandmother Catherine Selina Whale was born circa 1830-1831 to John Whale, a coal merchant, mother Elizabeth (formerly Sanders Gilbert). Almost certain that Catherine was born in Stratford. On the 1841 census, she's at a private boarding type school in Stratford down as Selina Whale(her parents both having passed away) family church was Holy Trinity. Had a look online at various websites but can't find anything. For some reason, her parents married in Derbyshire, looked to see if there was any records there but nothing. Any help is appreciated.

Travelling People / Lock - Holyhead Anglesey/ help with marriage etc
« on: Saturday 25 July 20 00:51 BST (UK)  »
Can anyone help please. I am trying to find a marriage and other records for Albert Lock, a basket maker, Holyhead, Anglesey. Albert had 2 children by Lydia, her maiden name is recorded as Hooper then Cooper on both children's birth entries, 1 child died in infancy, the other child Doris lived until the end of the 1980s. Lydia died in 1928 aged 35, her children by Albert born 1923 and 1928 respectively. I cannot find a marriage for Albert and Lydia, looked extensively. I cannot evidence that Albert or Lydia originated from Anglesey but pretty sure they were both from North Wales. Both Doris and Sophia were born in Holyhead, Turkey Shore, in a caravan.
Thank you.

Cavan / Keappock family Knockbride marriage look up
« on: Saturday 18 April 20 23:48 BST (UK)  »
Can anyone help please. After spending a few years unravelling my maternal great grandmother's parentage and where they came from, I was wondering if someone could help please. My grt grt grandmother was called Mary Keappock and she was the daughter of  John and Anne.  I found her baptism date 2 Sept 1840, Knockbride. With her having an uncommon surname, I thought finding her marriage would be easy but this hasn't been the case. Mary married John Duffy before 1861 presumably as their first child, Thomas was born in 1861, he was born in Liverpool as were the rest of their children. I have looked to see if they married outside of Ireland but haven't found any evidence. They must have married before they left Ireland. Any help would be appreciated, also if anyone else has any other knowledge about the Keappock family line please.  :)

Cavan / Keappock-Looking for information
« on: Friday 09 November 18 01:08 GMT (UK)  »
Can anyone please help regarding my 2x great grandmother's maiden name, Keappock also recorded as Capogue/Kappick/Cappock/Kappock/Kappick. Mary Keappock was born circa 1840, I've found a baptism  listed at Knockbride, County Cavan. Parents John Keappock and Ann McHenry. Mary married John Duffy, marriage must have took place in Cavan as their first 2 children were born in Ireland before they moved to Liverpool just before 1871 census. Any information relating to the family/marriage would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

« on: Tuesday 26 December 17 15:15 GMT (UK)  »
Can anyone help please regarding Henry Partington's parents/siblings please. I have a baptism for Henry-1821(St Leonard The Less,Samlesbury 1821. His parents were Henry Partington and Agnes Whittam. I have found a marriage for them-26th June 1814 at the same church. But I am struggling to find any other children (if any were born) for Henry and Agnes. I am trying to go back further regarding Henry and Agnes. The only other connection for Agnes is a relative called George Whittam on their marriage entry. I don't know when Henry and Agnes were born and guessing they were both from the Samlesbury area. Henry is down as being a spinner on his son Henry's baptism record. Any help would be appreciated.

I am struggling to find out more about Richard Rider (also variant Ryder) born circa 1827
I know he had a possible sister, Elizabeth born circa 1826 (both born Kinnerley)
Richard is on the 1841 census living with the James family, his possible sister is living with another family a few doors down. I have all the information beyond 1841 regarding Richard but cannot find a baptism or details of his parents. If anyone can help, I would be grateful as I have reached a dead end.

Lancashire / Maryland Street-Liverpool-1920's-unmarried mother's building
« on: Sunday 28 August 16 21:09 BST (UK)  »
I'm trying to find out about an old building in Maryland Street,Liverpool.I have come to a dead end regarding my research. My great aunt had her first child there in the 1920's (details sourced from child's birth certificate).
She was an unmarried mother and from google maps, the address depicts what looks like an old convent. Does anyone know if this convennt was regularly used for unmarried mothers and if any records would still exist? Thank you.
