Hello:
I am trying to pinpoint where our William Huggins was living in/around London so that, hopefully, this will narrow down a later search for his will.  Unfortunately, all I know is that he lived in London during the 1820s and 1830s.
Assuming they are searchable, could I ask for a lookup in the CDs for either Pigot's Directory (1825/6) or for the London Royal Blue Book (1833), please?

Hello:
Our gr-gr-grandmother was born, lived, and died at various places.  Margaret Huggins (née Burke) was born in County Kerry, Ireland.  At fifteen, she married John Huggins, a native of county Tyrone, in England, possibly at Chatham.  The family lived, of course, wherever John was stationed, and this included the island of St Helena, Fort Henry in Canada (at Kingston), then back to England, first at Hertfordshire, and later at Winchester.  Then, Margaret & John, with the seven youngest (of ten) children, emigrated to Canada in 1874.  John died just two years later, in northern Ontario.
At some point, Margaret --with daughter Kate (Catherine)-- wound up back at Winchester.  First, Catherine died there in 1897, followed by Margaret in 1898.
I am trying to pinpoint where Margaret [1823-1898] and Catherine (a.k.a. Kate) [1861-1897] were in 1891, when they would have been 68- and 30-years-old, respectively.  Margaret was born in county Kerry, Ireland, and Catherine (Kate) was born at Waltham Abbey, Edmonton.
It is possible that another daughter was either with them, or living nearby.  Elizabeth Goddard, née Huggins, was born in 1849 at St Helena, sometimes given as Africa in the census records.  She was a widow by 1891, about 42-years-old at the time.
Could someone look for these three, long-sought-for people, please?  I don't know what part of England ... might have been Winchester or, perhaps, Somerset, Devon, or Islington (or ??).  While I know what eventually happened to Margaret & Kate, I have no idea what happened to Elizabeth.
Many, many thanks in advance,
Alison Causton

Hello:
Our gr-gr-grandmother was Charlotte Hurford (1840-1901).  In 1862, she was married at Weston-super-Mare (to Thomas Wawman).  The marriage took place in the Wesleyan Methodist chapel on Regent Street.
Charlotte's father was Nicholas Hurford, a carpenter, but he was deceased by the time of the marriage.   A FreeBMD search shows that a Nicholas Hurford died in Wellington Registration District in 1857.
Could someone look up the 1851 -and if possible, the 1841- census for Nicholas Hurford, please?  The family may have been situated at Axbridge or Tiverton, instead of Weston-super-Mare...

Hello:
I am trying to locate one George West, my father's cousin.  In 1901, he would have been nine-years-old.  George was born at Moordown, Holdenhurst, Bournemouth.
The family was often broken up, so I think he may have been staying with relatives at the time the 1901 census was enumerated.
Can someone help, please?

Hello:
The Miles surname occurs so frequently that I've had difficulty sorting through the BMD indices and narrowing down the entries to our family line.  I am hoping to find 1891 census entries for our great-grandmother's brothers:
- Henry Miles, born 1848 at Clayton, Sussex
- William George Miles, born 1851 at Keymer, Sussex
- George Miles, born 1853 at Keymer
- Richard Miles, born 1855 at Keymer
- Frank Miles, born 1859 at Lindfield
Could someone help, please? and many thanks for any consideration.

London & Middlesex Completed Lookup Requests / 1851 Census: Aaron DUNFORD
« on: Monday 06 February 06 03:15 GMT (UK)  »
Hello:
I am hoping to find our gr-gr-grandfather, Aaron Dunford [1825-1880], in the London, Middlesex census of 1851.  In that year, he should be with wife Charlotte [1828-1903], and possibly with his father, Joseph.
Aaron Dunford was born c1825 at Tarrant Gunville, Dorset.  His wife, Charlotte, was born in 1928 at Long Crichel, also in Dorset.
A brother, George, born c1830 at either Barrow or Brockley in Somerset, may also appear.
Can someone help, please?  I am most curious to find out who, if anyone, was residing with Aaron and Charlotte in 1851.
... and many thanks in advance,
Alison Causton

Hampshire & IOW Completed Lookup Requests / MOREY - 1891 census - Winton, Southampton
« on: Thursday 02 February 06 00:51 GMT (UK)  »
Hello:
Am trying to trace our gr-gr-Aunt Ida, with her husband Tom Morey.  They were married in 1887 at Bournemouth, and the couple was at Winton in the 1901 census.  Were they in Hants at the time of the 1891 census?  Were there any children at that date?
These are the questions I am trying to answer.
Ida was born c1859 at Paddington; Tom c1861 at Hilton, Dorset.
Many thanks in advance,
From a snowy and blustery Nova Scotia,

Channel Islands Lookup Requests / 1851/1861/1871 census: McGowan at St Helier, Jersey
« on: Sunday 04 December 05 13:29 GMT (UK)  »
Hello:
May I have lookups for the McGowan surname in the 1851, 1861, and 1871 censuses, please?  I have the 1881 census which shows Elizabeth, age 72, and widowed, together with daughter Jane, age 36.  I am hoping to learn Elizabeth's husband's name and place of origin, and the names of any other children.
Thank you, in advance, for any assistance offered.
