Lancashire / Pollitt / Partington at Swinton Lancs
« on: Sunday 17 October 04 06:57 BST (UK)  »
I am trying to track down any info on Frank POLLITT (born Swinton, Lancs 1860) who married a Presence PARTINGTON 1884.  On the 1891 census they were listed as man and wife living at Worseley Road, Swinton - no children.  Then on the 1901 census Presence POLLITT is living at Foley Lane, Swinton, with a daughter Dorothy - she states she is married (not widow) but no mention of Frank.  I know Dorothy would be long gone, but are there any decendents out there who wonders what happened to their grandfather or great frandfather Frank.  I've got an inkling he short through to Australia and became Fred Peel - got a fair bit of info to back this up - but need something to connect back to Presence?? Any help greatly appreciated.

Completed Census Requests / 1871 Census Lookup Request Lancs. Pollitt
« on: Friday 02 April 04 14:24 BST (UK)  »
On 1881 census Timothy POLLITT  (b1832 Worseley, Lancs) living at 34 Folly Lane, Worseley, Lancs.  Rest of household: wife (Mary Ann b1831) children James (b1858) Frank (b1861) Alan (b1865) Arthur (b1869) and Martha (b1872) (children all born at Swinton, Lancs.)

I'm hoping to track them down on the 1871 census if possible (I'm having trouble finding a brother Fred and wondering whether "Frank" is "Fred" because in 1895 Alan and a brother Fred came to Australia and changed their surname to PEEL (no idea why!!??)
